Principal's Message
This week I wanted to share my thanks with you all again. One of the ways that Westwood remains a safe place for our students to learn is through YOUR support and vigilance.
Here are some ways that parents have helped to keep Westwood a safe place in my time since becoming the principal at Westwood:
- Parents have contacted the office for safety concerns they've seen outside of campus
- Parents have contacted local law enforcement for concerns that they've had in the neighborhood
- Parents have let the front office know when they see something unsafe in the parking lot
- Parents have reported when students are participating in unsafe behaviors (even if it wasn't their own student)
- Parents have reported when students are experiencing unsafe behaviors from other students on the campus during the school day
I say often that "Safety is the number one priority" for me as the principal of Westwood.
As I reflect on all of the ways that we've continued to ensure our students remain safe, I can't help but take a minute to appreciate how you all have contributed to this. Thank you!

Picking Up and Dropping Off Students
As a safety reminder, when picking up or dropping off your student, please use our drop-off loop (the staff parking lot is not for student drop-off) and pull as far forward as possible when in line with your vehicle. This supports a smooth drop-off and pick-up process.
🚗 Parents should stay in their vehicles and pull up to the student drop-off zone during this time. Please do not leave a vehicle unattended in the drop-off loop at any time. If you need help, wave down a staff member and we will be happy to assist you. Thank you for doing your part to keep our students safe.
Additionally, please be sure that your students have the proper car seats, booster seats, or seatbelts as required by California State Law. Let us know if you need help or resources to keep your student safe. 💺✅
Update Your Emergency Contact Info Now!
We are excited to announce that this year, families are able to verify their child's elementary school teacher and secondary school class schedule through our online data confirmation process. Starting on July 19, 2024, at 10:00 AM, parents who have completed the online data confirmation will be able to access this information. We encourage all parents to complete the online data confirmation process by following the instructions in the flyer below.
This important step will allow you to update your child's emergency contact info while also helping to support our school site with additional funding!
