Winter Weather Reminders

First, we want to take a moment to thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate a winter season our community has not seen in many years. Your flexibility with remote learning is appreciated, and we thank our students, staff, and parents/caregivers for staying engaged with the learning process!

With that said, more winter weather is on the way, and we want to remind you that we only have two (2) Remote Learning Days left. Once they are used up, we will need to make adjustments to the school calendar to ensure we meet the 180 days of instruction required by state law.

We understand that any changes to the school calendar can be an inconvenience for families, and we are committed to keeping you informed as soon as possible. If it becomes necessary to extend beyond our last two remote learning days, several options will be presented to the Board of Education for consideration. However, Superintendent Saxe will recommend that no changes be made that would impact spring break.

"We understand that spring break is an important time for families, whether for travel, traditions, or simply a well-earned break. If we need to extend the school year due to inclement weather closures, I will first explore alternative options, such as using the out-of-calendar day on March 14th and the OSE (Outside School Environment) days included in our approved calendar. Our priority is to find a solution that minimizes disruptions for students, staff, and families," said Superintendent Saxe. "We recognize the value of spring break, and I am recommending that it remain unchanged as we consider other options."
