Good afternoon Riverton families!

Embracing a growth mindset on Martin Luther King Day offers a powerful lens through which to view Dr. King's enduring legacy of equality, service, and compassion. This perspective, combined with mindfulness, encourages us to see societal challenges as opportunities for learning and progress, much as Dr. King did during the civil rights movement. By adopting this approach, we can engage more deeply with ongoing social issues, recognizing that our efforts to address them are part of a continuous journey of improvement and understanding.

In educational settings and beyond, the combination of mindfulness and a growth mindset equips individuals with tools for success, mirroring Dr. King's vision of a more inclusive society. This approach enables students and adults alike to manage stress, enhance concentration, and develop greater self-awareness, leading to improved decision-making and a more positive, collaborative environment. As we reflect on these principles in our various roles within the School community and beyond, we honor Dr. King's legacy by committing to ongoing personal growth and contributing to the creation of a more equitable and compassionate society.

Variety Show News and Updates:

We are so excited to be getting into Variety Show season and have heard from many classes about their involvement but still need to hear from a few more classes. Please email

rivertonschoolvarietyshow@gmail.com as soon as possible to let the producers know who will be coordinating an act for your class and your song choice. The show will be March 14th & 15th! The “holiday/celebration” assignments again are below:

K: Thanksgiving

1: St. Patrick's Day

2: Winter

3: Valentines Day

4: Birthday

5: Halloween

6: Spring

7: Summer

If you have already emailed the producers look for an availability of practice times and spaces today as well as a google form link for permission slips for participants.
