Teacher Appreciation
We have enjoyed showering our teachers, nurses, and school administrators and staff with gifts and goodies this week! The PTO hospitality committee, led by Emily Anderson, does the best job of making sure our teachers are fueled up with delicious snacks and meals during the week. Thank you to each of the parents and family members that supports the PTO; it is through your generosity that we are able to provide such great treats throughout the week!
Fun Fair is on May 18th!
We can't wait to see everyone at our Fun Fair on May 18th! Below is everything you need to know for the big day!
Entry Wristbands
If you pre-ordered wristbands by Tuesday May 7th, please look for pre-ordered wristbands in your student's Monday folder next week. If you haven't purchased yet, wristbands may still be purchased on the Givebutter site until Friday May 17th, but these will be have to be picked up at the will-call/ticketing desk on the day of the event. Wristbands may also be purchased the day of the event at the same price, $15 each by cash or check. Wristbands will cover your fee for any games and activities for the day, unlimited!! There will be no tickets needed to do any activities. Please note, we will have food trucks at the event for purchasing food and drink. These trucks will take cash and card, so please plan ahead to have lunch at the Fun Fair!
Raffle Tickets and Raffle Baskets
All raffle tickets will need to be picked up at the will-call/ticketing desk at the event. These tickets need to be signed for by each family, thus the change from distributing in Monday folders. Raffle tickets can be purchased by credit card through the Givebutter site until Friday May 17, or on the day of the event by cash or check. Raffle tickets are used for each of the raffle basket prizes. We have 10 lovely raffle baskets that were contributed to by you, our Spring Street families! To participate in the raffle, head to the gym and simply place the number of tickets desired into the designated place for the raffle basket(s) of your choice. Please note, we will need a legible name and telephone number for each raffle basket winner.
Food Trucks
Bring your appetite and cash or card to purchase food and drinks from the food trucks at Fun Fair. We will have Anzio's, Kona Ice, and Uhlman's there!
Inflatable Obstacle Course
Besides the many games and crafts, we will have an inflatable obstacle course available for play on the back lawn! We will need an adult supervisor at all times for this event. Any time period without adult supervision will not be available for play. Please use the sign up genius link to sign up to help supervise the course for just an hour at a time.
Tennis Tubes for Fun Fair
We are still taking small donations and empty tennis tubes for the tennis tube prizes! Please see the flyer below for more information!
Silent Auction
Beginning Monday, May 13th you can begin bidding on the Givebutter site for our silent auction. We have many fabulous experiences and items available for bidding. Teddy Bear Drive
As part of a service project, Charlotte Lahti, a Spring Street 4th Grade student from Girl Scout Troop 65087, is hosting a teddy bear drive to collect new or gently used teddy bears and other stuffed animals.
• The teddy bears will be donated to the Shrewsbury Police department, who will give them to children on emergency calls, such as domestic violence, car accidents, fires, or medical emergencies.
• The teddy bears can provide comfort and support to children who are scared, hurt, or traumatized by these situations.
How can you participate?
• You can participate by donating new or gently used teddy bears or other stuffed animals that are clean, safe, and in good condition.
• You can drop off your donations at Spring Street School between 12-1PM during the Fun Fair on May 18th.

Directly influence the community at Spring Street School by joining the board. Worried about the time commitment? The more volunteers the more we can divide the work so we are aiming to have more co-board positions. Time commitment varies per month, but an average of "5" hours a month (months with larger activities like Fun Run, Family Dinner Dance, and Fun may require more). Responsibilities include attending monthly board meetings, responding to email communications with the board and Mr. Mabie..

A special note about field trips:
As in past years, the PTO is thrilled to be able to sponsor field trips for this upcoming season by providing the transportation fee of the buses used! We couldn't do this without the support of our community. Thank you for the way you all show up for the whole student body. We appreciate our Spring Street families!
