2. Monthly Focus: Establishing a Strong Foundation
As we flip the calendar to the next month, the New Year appears. Now is a good time to refocus for a strong finish of the school year, and as such we will look at how to re-establish a strong foundation for your academics.
This week's focus: Setting up a Productive Workspace. Consider doing the following:
- Organize (or clean up/reorganize) a dedicated study area free from distractions.
- Ensure all necessary supplies and technology are readily accessible; including charging your computer!
- Develop a routine schedule that includes breaks and leisure time.
- Test all virtual classroom tools and platforms to ensure they work properly, such as Edgenuity and Schoology.
3. SMCPS Athletics Newsletter:
Remember, Virtual Academy students in good standing with academics and attendance are eligible to play sports at their home high school as well as attend all school events!
4. Deadlines for Friday
This Friday is the deadline for two important things:
1. Marking Period Recovery for marking period 1. Any work in Edgenuity that begins with MPR MUST be completed by Friday, January 10th, as it will be closed out and report card grades will be updated. Remember you must have a RELATIVE grade of 60% to be considered recovered for the replacement grade of a D.
2. School Day SAT registration. Any JUNIOR (11th grader) who would like to take the SAT FREE on March 12th will need to register using this form by Friday.
