HIGHLAND HIGHLIGHTS

I would like to welcome everyone back after winter break. I hope that you had time to spend with family and friends. Here are a few reminders:

• Students go out for recess when it's 15° or higher

• Send students in with attire for the weather

• Please label clothing items and boots with your child’s name

• If you are in need of help getting winter coats, hats, boots, etc., please call the office. We can connect you with some support

• January 6th marks the start of our third quarter

• Second quarter report cards are live in ProgressBook as of January 7

• There may be bus delays on days when there are snowy road conditions

Happy 2025! I cannot believe this last rotation was the seventh encore rotation with my students. This rotation looked a little different for each grade level. Kindergarten and first graders learned about the feeling of anger and what we do to calm ourselves down when feeling this way. Second graders learned about teasing and how to respond. Third and fourth graders learned how to respond to peer pressure with assertive communication. As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns regarding your student. I am beyond thankful to get to be a part of their educational journey.
