Important Dates:

• We have school Friday, Jan 31st as a snow makeup day. We will run an advisory schedule.
• Annette Brinkman will be here Thursday 1/30/25 to observe classes ad debrief in the afternoon with teachers she visits. We will get class coverage so you may attend the debrief. Schedule is attached below.

Students who failed one or more classes last semester should receive a letter in the mail asking to choose from one of three options to make up their course:

• After school credit recovery Mon-Thurs until 5:45 pm
• (Melina Sanchez will run it Mon/Wed and Ryan Romero Tues/Thurs )
• Spring Break Academy (Come to school during Spring Break for 4 hrs. a day) anyone interested please let Ms. Rivera know. We will offer he extra duty pay to middle school teachers if we can not get anyone at SHS to support Spring break Academy)
• Summer school during the whole month of June. If you would like to work please let Ms. Rivera know.

If a students are asking questions about feeling safe at school please put them at ease in reminding them of FERPA laws. They are safe at school and their information is protected by law.

• We do not ask a family's immigration status nor do we ask for social security numbers to enroll in school.
• We are not permitted to disclose any information of students to a non-custodial parent without a warrant signed by a Federal judge.
• Furthermore our state Secretary of Education designee has sent the attached letter explaining FERPA law and immigration status of students. Should any agency show up at the school contact me, the principal. I will defer to our district's legal council and district leadership. No one is permitted to enter the school or request information without a warrant.

We are here to support students as they navigate emotions around the media and what is being implemented with new leadership of our country.
