The grading tab will reopen on Thursday, June 6th at 4:00 pm at which time you will be able to access your child’s report card via the parent portal in Infinite Campus. Please note that when reviewing your student’s report card, teacher comments do not show up in the portal when looking at the main Grades screen. They do, however, if you access the Reports screen. From there, you can generate a report card in pdf format that will have all the comments.

Sunscreen Policy: Just a reminder that it is the District's guideline that we do not provide or allow students to share or use another person's sunscreen, lip balm, lotion, etc., due to the potential for an allergic reaction to the active ingredients in these products. With the warm sunny days forecasted ahead, parents are encouraged to apply sunscreens at home prior to sending their child to school.

Breakfast With A Buddy
Counselor's Corner with Mr. Biolo
As we move one week closer to the end of the school year, students are starting to get excited and some are even starting to think about next year. I like to use this time to teach some life skills that will come in handy for them moving into the future.
Here is a rundown of what your child is learning this week in Life Skills:
5K
During this week's Life Skills lesson, we were using the Childrens Wisconsin, Healthy Minds online curriculum. I showed some short, fun clips and we talked about what a healthy mind is. We talked about how we all have big feelings from time to time and we looked at ways that we can talk to adults to help us handle those feelings.
1st Grade
1st graders learned the lesson I call “Sticks and Stones”. We learned that there are some things people might do to us that could hurt us or potentially cause harm and that we should talk with an adult about them. We also learned that sometimes people use unkind words toward us, but we don’t have to let those words hurt us. Instead we can learn how to handle those words by ignoring them, helping kids to be more resilient.
2nd and 3rd Grade
Our lesson for this week was titled “Train Your Brain”. In this lesson we talked about the difference between hearing and listening. We worked on skills where students had to focus while listening to a sound. We then translated that skill to really listening when somebody is talking and we talked about how this skill can help us in school and in our lives.
4th Grade
This week we talked about the transition from 4th grade to 5th grade and our task was to learn how to open a combination padlock. In 5th grade students get their own locker with a combination lock on it. Many students are not comfortable with these locks yet so we taught them how to open a padlock and gave them time to practice opening them.
As always, please contact me at cbiolo@kimberly.k12.wi.us if you have any questions.
Notes from the School Nurse
Medication Pick-up
Please see the letter from our school nurses regarding prescriptions and over the counter medication pick up at the end of this school year.
Class Placement
As this school year comes to a close, thoughts turn to the summer and the upcoming school year. One thought students wonder about is their classroom assignments for the next year. We will continue our efforts to maximize the learning potential of each student by balancing student/teacher ratios, maintaining gender balance, grouping students heterogeneously, and avoiding potential student conflicts as we assign students to classes. Parents will be notified of their child’s classroom assignment by the first week of August. We ask that you do not request a specific teacher. We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation so that we can make classroom assignments with the most current enrollment numbers possible before the start of the school year.
