CTMS Family Newsletter
Wonderful Wolf Families,
What a week for the pack! We kicked off the week on Monday morning with the October PTA general meeting and parent classrooms visits and ended the week with the CTMS choir singing their way into 16 spots on the All Region Choir on Saturday! In between these two events, the pack competed on the field, court, and course, performed in the gym, and came together in community on Friday night in the parking lot. See below for some pictures from these events. Thank you to all of our family members who work behind the scenes, volunteer at endless events, drive our wolves to and fro before the sun rises and long after the sun sets to make all of these events possible!
This week is Red Ribbon Week. The PALS organized dress up days to encourage the pack to be healthy and drug free. All dress up days must follow GCISD's dress code, no inflatables, face coverings, or weapons. On Thursday, October 31 at 8:15 a.m. PALS are hosting the October pep rally. If you plan on joining the pep rally, allow plenty of time to sign in through the front vestibule.
Looking forward to a wonderful week with the pack!
Howl,
Jamie Halliburton
CTMS Principal

Red Ribbon Week
This week, the Wolf Pack will celebrate Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week started as a grassroots effort to honor Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, a Drug Enforcement Administration Agent who was tortured and killed in Mexico in 1985. In honor of Kiki's memory and his battle against illegal drugs, friends and neighbors began to wear red badges of satin. Parents then began to form coalitions using Camarena as their model while embracing his belief that one person can make a difference. These coalitions adopted the symbol of Camarena's memory, the Red Ribbon. Today, the Red Ribbon serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities.
In supporting the vision of RRW of keeping all students healthy and drug free, the CTMS PALS created dress up days for our pack. As you prepare for dress up days, all items must follow the CTMS dress policy and there will be no face coverings. See below for the list of dress up days.
PALS will host a pep rally on Thursday, October 31 at 8:15 a.m. in honor of Red Ribbon Week.

Veterans Day
CTMS Families,
Our annual Veterans Day Celebration is on Monday, November 11 th . We will host a short
reception at 2:00pm in the Library for veterans and their families, followed by an assembly at
2:35 in the Main Gym. This is always a very special time in which we take time to honor our
veterans and their service to our country.
We would like to make this event personal to our students and families, and we are hoping you
can help us out. If you have any family members that serve or have served in the military, we
would love to get a little information about them with the purpose to honor them throughout
our Veterans Day program.
If you and/or a veteran plan on attending the reception and/or the assembly, please complete
our form by clicking on this link, even if you cannot attend, you can send in a picture and give
information so we may honor your veteran. Please complete the form by Monday, November
4th. If you are attending, please bring a state issued ID so you can sign into our system and
receive your visitor sticker.
Thank you in advance for helping us make this memorable for our CTMS students and families.

Morning Drop-Off & Afternoon Pick-Up
Drop-off and pick-up occur in TWO locations: In the parking lot outside the academic halls at the C-hall door and outside the SAC. See the map below.
For the safety of all wolves, thank you in advance for driving slowly, keeping cell phones away, and staying alert and aware of others.
C-Hall Door
For drop-off and pick-up, the parking lot across from the football field is two lanes. Pull into the lane you will be exiting from, if you are turning right out of the parking lot, drop off and/or pick up your wolf in the inside lane (closest to the building) and if you are turning left out of the parking lot, drop off and/or pick up your wolf on the outside lane (closest to the football field). Also, please pull all the way up to let your wolf out of the vehicle. The doors to the school open at 7:45 a.m. and school dismisses at 3:30 p.m.
SAC Doors
This is a single lane drop-off and pick-up. The driveway is not for parking. If you need to assist your wolf, please park in a non-reserved space.
