BW Update - September 3, 2024
Message from Superintendent Ana C. Riley
Welcome Back!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to welcome you and your children back to our school community this fall. Your child is unique and full of potential, and we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for them to thrive in.
Our Strategic Plan is our road map and compass for our work, and it provides you with the big picture goals, strategies, and tactics we will use in the coming years. Parents often tell us it answers quite a few questions about our approach to teaching and learning. I encourage you to check it out.
Similarly, you may be aware of the plans to improve our school campuses. Please check out our capital projects tab on our website for all the information on the renovation and construction projects at our schools in the coming years.
Educating the children of our community takes teamwork. Research shows that the home and school relationship, whether through volunteering, parental attendance at school events, and engaging in conversations about your child’s school day, plays a crucial role in their success. Please be on the lookout for communication from your child's school principal for opportunities to play a role in your school’s initiatives.
Thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of educating your child. We look forward to a fantastic year of learning and growth.
With our children in mind,
Ana C. Riley
Superintendent of Schools
Mt. Hope High School Neighborhood Meeting on Sept. 16th
We invite you to attend a neighborhood meeting on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 6 pm at Mt. Hope High School to learn more about the updates to the District's Capital Projects Plan specific to the new Mt. Hope High School Project. The meeting will be held in the cafeteria. Our goal is to give you an opportunity to ask questions and express any concerns regarding this project.
As part of the work to build our new high school, a variance on state construction requirements is needed to create a parking area that eases congestion and creates specific areas for bus pick up and drop off, for staff parking, and student parking. The request to seek the variance will be considered and voted on by the School Committee at the September 9th meeting. Complete details are here.
