Bronco Bulletin Parent Newsletter

OUR MISSION STATEMENT
What's Happening This Week?
It's hard to believe that we're already finished with August. This week, our Kidnergarten students will do their beginning of the year DIBELS testing. 1st-5th grade students have been working in computer lab and small groups will begin this week. We are all working to help all students reach their goals and grow. We know that all Broncos can Read and Grow! The cookide dough fundraiser continues this week. All order forms are due on Monday, September 9th. You will pay online for your orders through the payment portal. To be a top seller, your order forms and payment must be turned in on time. We will post when the orders will arrive and you'll pick up the orders that you have sold to get back to your supporters. We appreciate your support with this fundraiser. We have the opportunity for each grade level to have parents come for a holiday meal. We need to order groceries, adjust luch schedules and make sure we have enough seats to accomodate 2 guests per student. To make all of this happen in addition to the 700 plus meals that are served each day, we must have parents register and pre-pay. If you are unable to attend during your child's grade level holiday lunch, there will be another opportunity at the Parent Picnic. Please be sure you're reading the details and signing up by the deadline as we can't add any additional guests the day of each event. To keep students safe, only those listed on the check out cards are allowed to come for lunch or the Parent Picnic so be prepared to show your identification. We are excited to offer these opportunities to parents. This summer, the LA State Legislature changed all school grading scales to a 10 point grading scale. This will be a little bit of an adjustment for us. In the past, we worked on a 7 point scale and would scale assignments. With a new grading scale that's based on 10 points, we are reviewing all grading procedures and you might see some grades adjusted as we are working to make sure that grading is accurate, balanced, and fair. We ask for your patience as we navigate the grading process. Thank you for your support and being an important part of our Bronco family. It's a great week to be a Bronco!
