A Special Day with Grandparents Dear
Today’s a day we hold so dear,
For grandparents far and near.
A time to laugh, a time to sing,
And share the joy that you all bring.
The children’s voices, sweet and bright,
Will lift your hearts with pure delight.
They’ve practiced hard, just for you,
A song that’s filled with love so true.
After songs, we’ll share a treat,
Muffins baked for you to eat.
Sit together, side by side,
With love and warmth we can’t hide.
Then outside, we’ll run and play,
In the sun’s warm, gentle ray.
Together, we’ll make memories new,
In every smile, in all we do.
So, here’s to you, our guiding light,
Who makes our world so warm and bright.
Thank you for the love you give,
And for the wonderful lives you live.

Nurse Shive
Just a reminder: attendance is essential to your child’s success at school! Throughout the year, there may be health reasons to keep your child home from school. The following guidelines may be help determine when your child should stay home from school due to illness:
Fever of 100 degrees or higher in the past 24 hours
Your child must be free of fever for a full 24 hours without the help of fever-reducing medications (such as Tylenol or Motrin) before sending them back to school.
Vomiting and/or diarrhea in the past 24 hours
Itchy, red eyes with discharge
Rash that has fluid or pus coming from it until treatment has been received, and a note from the doctor states that your child may return to school.
Ringworm of the scalp (until treatment has started)
Head lice (may return after appropriate lice treatment) -Your school nurse will need to check your child’s head before he/she returns to class.
Please encourage your child to wash his or her hands often, use hand sanitizer, and cover their noses and mouths when coughing or sneezing. It is also helpful for your children to get plenty of sleep and to eat healthy foods, especially breakfast.
Always remember that I am available to assist you if you have any questions on whether or not you should keep your student home. We share a common goal – the health, safety, and educational success of your child!
