Friday Family Update
5 K Fundraiser
On Sunday, our PTSA hosted our biggest fundraiser of the year, our annual 5k race. It was great to see so many PRES families and staff members in attendance. A special thanks to our volunteers and 5k participants who helped make this event possible.
This week our scholars have been busy learning, playing, and collaborating with their peers. While visiting classrooms this week we saw our kindergarten students learning one-to-one correspondence, number formation, and counting. We were so impressed by their math skills.
In first grade, our students enjoyed read-alouds that focused on character traits and social-emotional learning. We also enjoyed reading our first graders' first informational writing pieces. Our first-grade classes are filled with amazing readers and authors.
We also saw our second-grade classes engaged in various literacy activities this week, including word work, reading activities, read-alouds, and journal writing. We love that our second graders are so passionate about literacy! While visiting our third and fourth-grade classrooms this week, we saw students working on arrays, word problems, and multiplication in math. In reading, we saw students engaged in various reading activities.
Our students had a blast in specials this week. We saw students engaged in a special art project, learning about different instruments in music, and participating in pool noodle tag in physical education class.
Please be sure to take a look at all of the pictures which highlight some of the wonderful things that took place at PRES this week!
If you should need help or support, please contact us by phone or email anytime. We are always happy to help. Have a great weekend!

This Month's Lunch Menu
Hello Palmer River Families and Friends,
This week I wanted to share with you the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s (MDPH) COVID-19 guidance for K through 12 schools. The D-R District is no longer implementing quarantine or contract tracing practices. Students and staff who present with the symptoms outlined in the MDPH protocols will be dismissed and asked to test for COVID-19 or other illnesses like influenza or streptococcus.
Please contact your school nurse if your child is ill and is required to isolate. Reach out to the teacher to make arrangements to pick up class work or have some items sent digitally. It is our commitment to support your family through a time of healing.
