Dear Parents/Carers,
This week, I have been in Year 6 supporting a group of pupils with reading. The pupils are building up their reading application skills in preparation for the forthcoming SATS assessments that they will sit in May. I have been very impressed with their reading ability and strong understanding of texts read. All Year 6 pupils are showing exceptional attitudes to their learning and I am extremely pleased with their progress. Well done to all our Year 6 pupils.
In addition to this, I have been speaking with small groups of pupils from a range of classes about the subjects they are learning currently and subjects they have covered in the past. I was again, suitably impressed with the attitudes the pupils displayed about school, and how they are not only able to talk to me about subject content they are learning this term, but also about knowledge they have retained from previous learning. I am very proud of the curriculum that we are providing for our pupils and how they are enjoying their learning experiences.

Thank you to all parents and carers who have already signed up for Parents Evening. If you haven’t already, please contact the school office who will be happy to allocate you a meeting slot.
Thank you also to those parents and carers who have sent in books from home which are no longer needed. This really does help us to fill our library and give the pupils a wider range of books to read.
If you do happen to have any books at home from the reading scheme that have been read, please bring them back into school for us. There is a box in the school entrance for this purpose.
Please take care over the weekend as we weather this latest storm and high winds.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
Yours Sincerely,
Mrs Adams
Lunar New Year Menu
On Wednesday, 29th January we will be celebrating the Lunar New year with a special lunch menu.
This Menu is available to all children, even if they would normally bring a packed lunch. If your child would like to have a school dinner on this day, they are priced at £2.53 and can be paid for on MCAS under “Dinners.”
As this menu falls on a Wednesday which is normally roast dinner day and very popular with the children, we will be serving the roast chicken option on Thursday instead of the garlic chicken or garlic tomato and vegetable pasta option.
