FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
This week's newsletter features lots of information about upcoming events and activities including:
- Ladies Choice
- February Break Camps
- FJVD Soccer Interest Survey
- Coffee with the Principal Recap
- Middle School Honor Roll - Trimester 1
And more! With this in mind, I'll keep my ramblings to a minimum this week, and share just this short reflection. I recently stumbled upon a quote from St. John Vianney, patron saint of parish priests who remarked "the saints did not all begin well, but they all ended well." Recently, I've been blessed to be a part of several student journeys that in many ways mirrored this idea. Yet, while there were doubtlessly difficulties and challenges along the way, it was these obstacles that made the final success all the sweeter. They may not have begun well, but they all ended well.
Indeed, may it be said of all of our students as they progress through their time at Father Doyle that, while they may or may not have begun well, "they all end well," and, perhaps even more importantly, end their time here closer to becoming the saints they were meant to be.
Please see below for additional information on all of the upcoming events!

Coffee with the Principal Updates
I have had a wonderful time meeting with parents at our monthly Coffee with the Principal gatherings. These gatherings are an excellent opportunity to meet other families and share ideas about the Father Doyle experience.
To that end, I wanted to share a brief update summarizing recent discussions from the past few months and the initiatives or changes that have been implemented as a result. Check out the one-pager below for more information.
A reminder that all families are invited to join us for Coffee with the Principal on the 2nd Tuesday of every month immediately following prayer service. Upcoming dates: February 11th, March 11th, April 8th, May 13th.
Student Interest Survey - FJVD Soccer Spring 2025
CAL offers two soccer divisions - Junior (Grades 4-5) and Grammar (Grades 6-8). Both divisions are co-ed. In order to submit registrations and develop team rosters, we are sending an interest survey to all families in grades 4-8. This survey will help us determine the possibility of hosting a junior team, a grammar team, or both. If your child is interested in playing soccer for Father Doyle School this year, please complete the survey here: https://forms.gle/bPsd4UH4RZiZsmTP7
Survey responses are due back no later than Monday, January 20th. Please note that the school is only able to register if enough players express interest to field a full team and the necessary coaches have been secured. If there is enough interest for a team, registration information will go out next week and practices will begin in March.
FJVD Open House - Next Weekend!
We will be hosting our Winter Open House on Sunday, January 26th from 12:30 - 2:30. Parents of current students and alumni sharing their experience of Father Doyle has always been the best way to continue to grow our school community. Thank you for sharing the Open House information with interested families!
