Kenton County is closed on October 4 and October 7 therefore we will not have any bus service. Please arrange for private transportation on these dates.

October 4th at 1 PM - This event is open to school and parish families. The event will take place in the upper lot outside of school. Guests and pets will line up in a designated area to be blessed by Fr. Harry. We ask all guests to park in the lower lot along the perimeter in order for us to prepare for dismissal.

For the safety of our students, staff, and guests - no students are permitted to stand with animals that are not from their household. Once your pet has been blessed, students are asked to return back with their class.

Parents that worked a total of 8 hours or more earned their child(ren) 2 out-of-uniform days and 1 no homework pass. Homeroom teachers have received a list of these students and will communicate this information to you. If you feel your child should have received this benefit, please email Kathleen Bell from the festival committee. The school does not determine this information.

Each year, St. Cecilia Catholic School, along with all other schools in the diocese participates in Protecting God's Children. Each student participates in one lesson each semester. The purpose is to make students aware of their surroundings and those around them. Opt-out forms are coming home in your Wednesday folders today. If you do NOT want your child to participate, you will need to complete the form and return it to school no later than Tuesday, October 8.

We really need help in our cafeteria on a daily basis. Great way to earn Parent Partnership hours. Kitchen Help will assist the cafeteria with serving food. Cafe Monitor will assist students with opening items and cleaning tables.

You must be VIRTUS compliant. Parent hours need to be logged in to Sycamore for approval!

St. Cecilia Catholic School in Independence, Kentucky is seeking a part-time custodian to assist with daily cleaning tasks. The duties outlined below are included:

• Cleaning: Cleaning classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, and other areas daily. Perform weekly, monthly, and seasonal cleaning as needed.

• Sanitizing: Disinfect bathrooms, cafeteria, and touch surfaces such as door handles, switch plates, and trash receptacles.

• Trash removal: Empty trash containers and transport materials to disposal areas daily.

• Responding to emergencies as needed: Spills, illness, etc.

• Moving furniture: Moving heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies manually or with hand trucks.

• Setting up for events: Setting up, arranging, or removing decorations, tables, chairs, etc. for meetings and events.

• Maintaining equipment: Maintaining small tools, equipment, cleaning supplies, and work areas.

• Using chemicals: Using appropriate chemicals and cleaners safely and productively.

• Maintaining professional relationships: Maintaining positive, professional relationships with staff, parents, and others.

Do you love to sing? Consider lending your talents to bring glory to God, deepen your Faith, experience community, and add beauty to the Liturgy. Fall rehearsals are Mondays, 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm at St. Cecilia. From October 14 - December 16, 2024. Please sign up in the narthex or contact Abigail Haidle for more information.

The St. Cecilia Youth Choir (SCYC) kicked off the 2024-25 season with their first rehearsal on Monday, September 16th. A full rehearsal and performance calendar is available in the FORM linked below.

This Youth Choir is open to ALL 2nd - 8th grade St. Cecilia PARISH CHILDREN. That means YOU - St. Cecilia School Students! (Children younger than 2nd grade may be accepted on a trial basis if they can read, carry a tune, follow instructions, and focus for a fast paced 1 hour rehearsal.)

For more information and to express your interest, ask a question, or RSVP for the first rehearsal register below. Youth Choir will be taking new members till November.

The yearbooks from last year have arrived and have been distributed. We have a limited amount to sell. If you didn't order one, you still have an opportunity to purchase one while supplies last. Send a check to the school office in an envelope marked "YEARBOOK" and we will send it home with your child.

The SCPTO Trunk or Treat will be on Saturday, October 12 from 6 - 8 pm in the Undercroft. EVERYONE needs to RSVP for a Trunk, to attend the event, or to do both! We will have snacks, music and Halloween activities.

We will again be selling Texas Roadhouse Gift Cards this year! They make great Christmas gifts! Our sale will begin on Wednesday, October 23 (envelopes and info will be sent home in the red family folders) and will end on Friday, November 8. Gift Cards will be sent home with plenty of time before the holiday break if you'd like to use them for holiday gifts!

Our first Stagette planning meeting will be on Tuesday, October 15 at 6:30pm at LaRosa's in Independence. The Stagette is the PTO's largest event of the year and we need many volunteers to make this a successful event! Everyone is welcome to attend!

Pack 808 Is Looking for New Scouts!

Welcome to the adventure! Cub Scout Pack 808 is looking for new Lions, Tigers & Bears (Oh My!). Over the course of the year, we will be hiking, doing archery, snow-tubing, Pinewood Derby and other activities. We will be following the Scout Oath and Law, as we learn to be Trustworthy, Courteous, Reverent, and more. Everyone K-5th is welcome to join us. If your kids are interested or curious, October 8th and 15th are the next two Den Meetings, both at 6:30 at Summit View Academy. St. Cecilia has two 8th graders (Ben and TJ) on the Holy Cross middle school football team. Tonight is 8th grade night. 6pm Eva G field. They are playing Cov Cath. Its their last home game of the season and it would be great to see some St Cecilia faces in the crowd to support these two amazing boys! They have dedicated so much time the last three years to this team!
