Welcome to our weekly newsletter for of the 2024/2025 school year. We will send this out every week to keep you posted about all the things happening at the Coatesville Cyber Academy this year.

Good morning Cyber families,

Since we teachers are in the midst of entering 1st marking period grades, I want to take this opportunity to explain how our grade reporting works. The 1st and 3rd marking periods are more like mid-marking grades for us because they mark the midway points of Semester A and Semester B courses, respectively. Your final semester grade will go in as the marking period grade for both marking periods. For example: You currently have a 77 in American history. You do well in the second half of semester A, and you can have an 81 go in as the marking period 1 and 2 grades.

This is a wonderful moment to sit down and discuss how the first quarter of cyber school has gone for your families. Our teachers would be happy to facilitate those conversations over zoom. Parent/Teacher conferences are also on the horizon, be on the lookout for the sign-up sheet to reserve your preferred time slot. Please know our virtual office is open to anyone of our cyber family members, whenever you need us.

We will be sending the sign up sheet for conference slots with next week's newsletter.

If you come into the Drop-In Center, you can participate in our Cyber Bucks Program, where students earn tickets and get snacks and prizes.

Students get tickets by doing their work, helping others, and being good members of our school community!

As a member of the Coatesville Cyber Academy, you are eligible to participate in any/all intramural or extracurricular activities that your respective schools provide! Check back for updates on opportunities!

Daily attendance is achieved by logging into Accelerate and submitting assignments.

If you are going to be absent, please email your mentor teacher and add shumates@casdschools.org as well. Please use the same process for excuse notes.

Brianna is a new transfer this year that has figured out the equation of success in cyber school. She has learned how to maximize the time spent in her courses. Another variable that has led to her success is her willingness to access her resources in the virtual office. Excellent job Brianna!

Cyber seniors on track to graduate in June 2025....payment envelopes for cap & gown are available at the drop-in center or with Ms. Lewis in the CASH main office. If you are paying cash, please bring your $24 payment and come prepared with your height and approximate weight information prior to November 8th. Student Services will be at CASH to collect payments during lunches on Friday, November 1st and Friday, November 8th. 🌹

If you do not submit payment for a cap & gown, one will not be ordered for you.

***IMPORTANT - Cap and Gowns are currently priced at $24 - to avoid any late fees and/or restrictions students must plan to submit orders and payment on the dates noted above.

She can answer any questions you have about the process, talk about schools that are appropriate for your major, etc. She has to send your official transcript to each school once you apply, so it's important that she's in the loop!
