From Dr. Cardenas, Principal

Dear Evergreen Families,

As we enter the month of May, spring is in full bloom across our campus, and our calendar is bursting with important events and activities. This is one of our busiest months of the school year, with several significant milestones on the horizon.

Starting this month, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will begin their State Testing. These assessments are an important opportunity for our students to demonstrate all they have learned throughout the year. Please ensure your children get plenty of rest and a nutritious breakfast on testing days. Your teachers will communicate specific testing dates for your child's class.

I'm also excited to announce that our 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, at 8:30 AM. This is a special moment to celebrate our oldest students as they prepare for their next educational journey in middle school. More details will be forthcoming from our 5th grade team.

May also brings numerous grade-level Spring programs and concerts that showcase the incredible artistic and musical talents of our students. These performances represent the culmination of months of practice and dedication. Check your child's teacher for more information.

With such a full calendar of events this month, I strongly encourage you to read through the entire newsletter carefully to stay informed about all the exciting activities and important information from Evergreen. Your engagement and support are vital to our school community's success.

As always, I want to express my gratitude for your partnership in making Evergreen such a wonderful place for our children to learn and grow. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to me or our front office staff.

Respectfully,

Dr. Cardenas

Principal, Evergreen Elementary

Message from Marisol Lara, President, Evergreen Community Club

Hello Evergreen Parents,

This month, we were finally able to hold our Color Fun Run after several weather-related reschedules. The kids enjoyed getting their exercise with a splash of color, and they had an absolute blast!

A big thank you to all the volunteers who made this event possible—whether you helped set up, supervised during the run, or assisted with cleanup, we truly appreciate your support.

As we enter the final weeks of the school year, excitement is in the air! We have one more special event coming up: our Mother & Son gathering. We look forward to seeing you there!

Also, please mark your calendars: on March 16 at 8:30 a.m., we’ll be holding our final Evergreen Community Club meeting of the school year. We’ll be discussing the school budget, district updates, and plans for the upcoming year. Your feedback is incredibly important to us, and we hope you can join the conversation. If you have any questions please email us at evergreencommunityclub@gmail.com

Thank you for being an essential part of our Evergreen community!

2025-2026 Student Lighthouse House Applications

Our Leader in Me implementation is in full stride. All student action teams are meeting consistently with their facilitators, classrooms are displaying leadership all around the campus, and their sense of pride is growing!

The Student Lighthouse team has been busy getting ready to wrap up the school year and looking into a possible visit with local businesses in Diamond Bar to gain leadership experience. Also, our current 3rd and 4th graders are encouraged to apply and possibly interview for a chance to be on the Student Lighthouse Team for the 2025-2026 school year. More information to come, please be sure to contact your child's teacher to learn more about our Leader in Me implementation.

Our Evergreen Eagle first graders had a blast visiting the Mt. SAC Planetarium, where they began with the end in mind by diving into an exciting journey through space and the solar system. They returned inspired and put first things first by building and launching their very own rockets. Throughout the day, they showed how to synergize by working together and celebrating each other’s success. It was a stellar example of how our students sharpen the saw through hands-on learning, curiosity, and teamwork!

What an AMAZING day at Evergreen’s Fun Run Color Run! Our obstacle course was bursting with color, music, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Students had a blast running, dancing, and dodging clouds of color — all while raising funds to support our school! Huge thanks to everyone who helped make this a bright success.

Music, treats, color, and community — what more could we ask for?
