BES Parent Update

Join us for a K-4th grade open house and some opportunities to interact with staff. PTO and other school partners will be providing some activities for kids so you can focus on engaging with teachers. Mr. Kastner and Mrs. Meier will also be providing some informational presentations. We're excited to have you visit as we continue to look for ways to improve our communication and to engage parents at BES. Flyers came home last week or you can check them out right here.

Preschool will have a family engagement opportunity this spring as well so be looking for that information in February.

Clue #1 The mystery staff member comes from a long line of teachers in her family - including her great-great aunt, both grandmothers, her mother and father!

Clue #2 The mystery staff member was named after a character in Louis L' Amour western novel that her dad read.

Clue #3 This person LOVES spending time riding horses with her family.

Ask your child if they remember this mystery staff member!

Wednesday - Pigs in a blanket, baked beans, pears, pudding

Thursday - Chili haystacks, corn, applesauce

In August of 2022 the entire district staff was trained by Capturing Kids' Hearts. BES has been implementing this program wholeheartedly. Our CKH coaches have been astounded by how quickly and effectively staff have implemented the system. Twice a year we reflect and work towards improvement in this area. CKH asked BES to apply for National Showcase School status. We've completed the application and await their decision. Either way, we're very excited about CKH and are excited to share more about the program at Parent Night and in this newsletter in the coming weeks.
