PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
The end of the school year is in sight. I know it is a busy time for everyone and we can lose sight of the current moment. There can be a lot of unidentified emotions with the kids as they get both excited for summer break, but also anxious about maybe not seeing as many friends.
Thank you to George McGinty and Christel Michaud and everyone who helped with pulling off both arts nights at FMS. It was so nice to see so many families able to come in to see and hear the hard and wonderful work the students have created. As always, I am impressed with both the visual and performing arts the students create.
TRANSPORTATION FORM REMINDER:
Current 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade Parent/Guardians,
If you have not done so already, please complete this TRANSPORTATION FORM to indicate how your student will get to/from Fisher Mitchell for the 2024/2025 school year. We DO NOT carry forward transportation plans from year to year. This information is collected now so we can plan for next year accordingly.
If your student's transportation plans change after completing this form, please notify Holly Spence at hspence@rsu1.org
If you have more than one student attending Fisher Mitchell, please complete one survey for each student.

Maine DOE has launched a new Maine Outdoor Learning Initiative portal to help families easily access available programs and identify opportunities for their children to participate. All programs are at no cost to families, include free transportation, and are designed for students who face economic or other barriers to experiencing high-quality outdoor learning experiences.
SUN Bucks will help families receive $120.00 for each of their school aged children. If eligible, you can use SUN Bucks benefits to buy foods like fruits, vegetables, meat, whole grains, and dairy at grocery stores, farmers markets, and other places that accept EBT benefits.
You can find more information on this program: HERE.

Could Your Child Benefit from Mentoring?
When it comes to our children's future, we’re in this together. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bath/Brunswick pairs screened positive mentors with youth to create a community where all children achieve success.
We offer school-based mentoring, in which your child is matched with a trained adult volunteer who meets with them weekly at their school for lunch and recess.
We also offer community-based mentoring, in which your child and their Big meet to do fun things together on a schedule that works for them.
All our programs are free!
Contact Ms. DeRosa sderosa@rsu1.org for more information or visit bbbsbathbrunswick.org.
Families CAN! has several upcoming parenting enrichment programs that are all FREE, and open to any parent, caregiver or community member. Currently, all programs are being offered by Zoom.
