The Shannon Park Acts of Character Program revolves around teaching, promoting, recognizing and celebrating positive character traits in students. During the month of May, we will be focusing on the character trait of Perseverance.

The Kindness Council welcomed Tracy Caffrey from Moms and Neighbors to their April meeting. Moms and Neighbors is a group of families in the Rosemount area that works with ISD 196 to provide one-time, anonymous acts of kindness to people and families in need. So far this school year, they have given $50,000 worth of help to our 196 community! The Moms and Neighbors group includes Kindness Ambassadors and Community Partners to help identify those in need. We are enjoying our last unit in Preschool. We are learning about growing, changing and celebrating. We are looking at how we have grown this year and are planting grass and bean seeds and we are watching them grow. We are noticing how we have changed and how we can do things now that we could not do when we started the school year. We know the end of one thing often brings about the beginning of another. The end of our Preschool year is just the beginning of our schooling and we are looking ahead. We are looking forward to our last parent day on June 3rd when we can celebrate an amazing year in Preschool. What a wonderful year it has been.

The Shannon Park Site Council is a group of individuals comprised of elected parents, Shannon Park teachers, and staff. Through various programs and events throughout the year, the Shannon Park Site Council (SPSC) aims to support the scholastic efforts of our students and teachers, build a strong school community that includes all students and their families, and raise funds that directly support and impact our entire school community.
