Low Ash Primary
Weekly round up - 14.2.25
The half term has flown by (not helped by the snow in week 1!). We hope the pupils all have a lovely half term break and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday 24th February.
Golden Learners
Reception and Key Stage 1 Golden Learners
Key Stage 2 Golden Learners
Well done to this half term's Golden Learners! You should all be very proud of yourselves.
Attendance
This week's school attendance is 90.3%.
Whole school attendance so far this year is 95%.
Early Years/Key Stage 1 class of the week is Nursery with 96.5% attendance.
Key Stage 2 class of the week is 5B with 98.6% attendance - well done!
Once more, here is the link to the attendance page of the school website which has information on the Penalty Notice system. Ultimately, more than 2 penalty notices could result in the council taking you to court and a criminal record. We really do not want any of our families to have to go through this.

February half term activities - Bradford libraries
Libraries across Bradford are set to host a series of interactive events designed to engage and inspire children and families in the community. These events, which run through February Half Term, aim to transform traditional library spaces into vibrant centres of creativity and cultural exchange. What's more, they are all free!
Please click on the link below for further information.
World Book Day
Please take a close look at the separate World Book Day letter which was sent out recently. It will give you more detail of the activities taking place in school and give some ideas for inexpensive and hopefully easy costumes to assemble should your child want to dress up!
Mother's Day
The T & A are producing a special souvenir supplement to celebrate Mother’s Day this year and would like to invite your child/ren to take part by writing a short message for them to publish.
They ask that the message is no longer than 25 words in length (including their name) and is signed off using only the child’s first name. If your child would like to submit a message, we ask that they bring them to school no later than Friday 28th February. (School will then submit them to the T & A)
Car and OPAL update
A mechanic visited school this week to give the car a 'once over' to make sure that it is safe for pupils to play in. Although we had hoped to 'open' the car this week, we have decided to wait until after the half term so the safety rules can be discussed properly with pupils in assembly.
Low Ash is often visited by other schools who want to develop their playtime provision. This week we received some lovely feedback from a school in Ripon.
"It was great to visit Low Ash Primary School just over a week ago. I found the visit to be very inspiring. It was great to see how the relationships between the children are nurtured and enhanced through the provision outside."
Safer Internet Day
This week we celebrated Safer Internet Day at school. Some of the Year 6 pupils even got the chance to read one of our online safety stories to pupils in Reception. They read 'Chicken Clicking' which is all about a chicken who 'clicks' on the farmer's computer and ends up buying all sorts of unneeded things.
Parking
We have received reports this week of local residents being verbally abused by parents and carers of the pupils in the school when they have challenged them for where they have parked. This is simply not acceptable and sets an awful example to our pupils - how can we expect them to behave in a civil fashion if parents and carers can't? I will continue to advise local residents to report issues of abuse to the police. Below is a picture of one car parking irresponsibly - this picture has also been sent to the parking issues email address at the council.
Thank you to the vast majority of you who do park safely and responsibly at all times.

Sporting achievements
Well done to the Under 9s football team, the U9s futsal players and the U11 futsal players who have all represented school recently.

Classroom visits
Thank you to everyone who came into school this afternoon. We hoped you enjoyed looking at your child's work and learning more about what they have been 'up to' this half term.
