Dear Gaston Families,
As we head into the final weeks of school, it's an important time filled with assessments, learning, field trips, and celebrations. These moments matter—and so does the example we set for our children. Students watch and learn from how the adults around them behave. They often learn more from what we do than what we say. That’s why modeling calm, respectful problem-solving is essential. Unfortunately, we’ve recently had some incidents of yelling and swearing among adults on campus during drop-off and dismissal. This behavior is not acceptable and will not be tolerated—from adults or students. Please help us maintain a safe and supportive school environment by using respectful language. Everyone—children and adults—deserves to feel safe both physically and emotionally at school.

Early Pick-Up Procedures & Learning Environment
To help maintain a safe and orderly environment, we kindly ask that students not be picked up before 2:30 unless it is an emergency. If your child has a medical appointment, please plan to pick them up before 2:30.
Frequent early pickups can be disruptive to both the office and the classroom, where learning continues until 2:50. A high volume of adults coming in and out can also create safety concerns and interfere with our normal dismissal procedures.
If you need to pick up your child early, please send a note with your child or call the office in advance. This allows us to have your child ready in the office when you arrive, minimizing disruptions.
Thank you for your support in creating a safe and focused learning environment for all students.
Attendance
If your child is sick, please call the office 361-2300 to excuse their attendance. If you have already used 10 parent excused days, you will need a medical note to excuse the absence.
It's important to have your child to school on time. After 7:55 a.m., your student will be marked tardy.
School Year Calendar
Take a look at our updated school calendar. This year, we are discontinuing our early release Wednesdays and instead will have a few Fridays off throughout the school year.
