MRS. TRUSS ATTENDED A POLICY SOLUTIONS LUNCHEON
Shenikia Truss, Director of the Childcare Development Center, joined other business leaders, industry experts, and elected officials in Birmingham on January 25th to focus on policy solutions that will ensure Alabama remains competitive in industry recruitment and job creation in today’s 21st-century world. Hosted by the Women’s Foundation of Alabama, the luncheon event, “Clearing the Path: The Business Case for Childcare,” highlighted quality childcare as the leading barrier to women entering the workforce.
In her position as Director of the CDC, Mrs. Truss pledges to continue doing her part to address this statewide concern. "Through family engagement, community partnerships, and professional development for our staff and administration, we will continue to ensure that the programs and services we offer our students, faculty/staff, and community members are safe and of high quality."

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT - Miss Grace Ann Lundy
Congratulations to Grace Ann Lundy! Miss Lundy is an education major who was recently crowned Miss JSU 2024!
My name is Grace Ann Lundy and I go by Grace Ann.
I am from Cedartown, Ga. and I went to Darlington School where I graduated with high honors.
Some of my hobbies would include dancing, reading, and spending time with my friends and family. I am also involved in many organizations on campus: I am a Marching Ballerina, I am a member of Zeta Tau Alpha where I hold a position on our executive committee, I am a member of the honors programs and a member of Lambda Sigma Sophomore Honors Society.
After receiving an undergraduate degree from JSU in early childhood/elementary education, I plan to pursue a master's degree in administration. I then hope to teach at an elementary school and coach a cheer or dance team.
I chose JSU because it was always my dream as a little girl to be a Marching Ballerina with the Marching Southerners. A lot of my family members have attended JSU, so I always came to football games as a child, and I adored and looked up to the Marching Ballerinas so much. I am so honored that I now get to be a part of that wonderful organization.
Congratulations to our CEPS Outstanding Faculty, Staff, and Students for JANUARY
