On this Day in History: April 15th
On April 15, 1955 American fast-food pioneer Ray Kroc opened the first McDonald's franchise; he launched an enterprise that would eventually become the world's largest fast-food chain, in Des Plaines, Illinois.
Also, eighteen years ago in 2006 on April 15th, Marlee C. was brought into the world. She is one of our loving seniors here at CCA. Happy Birthday Marlee!
Another interesting thing that took place on April 15th is when the famous Leonardo da Vinci was born, in 1425. He was an Italian Artist, Engineer, and a Scientist. He became famous for his painting of The Mona Lisa. --By: Audrey F.

Survey Says:
This week’s survey says question is, "Would you rather go scuba diving or skydiving? Scuba diving won with a total of 28 votes; however, it was close as skydiving received 27 votes. According to skydivecarolina.com, "Statistically speaking, SCUBA diving is more dangerous than skydiving. While SCUBA diving is also highly regulated and there are extensive training opportunities, the environmental variables make diving into the water a bit more dangerous than diving into the sky." --Maggie
Total Solar Eclipse ramps up Excitement at CCA
According to science.NASA.gov, on April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse moved across North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. The sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk.
CCA students enjoyed viewing the eclipse, even though there wasn't a total solar eclipse in Clinton, MO. Third grade students said it was cool and neat, but not as awesome as the pictures they saw online, so some were disappointed.
A total solar eclipse is a rare sight. The next one is supposed to happen again on August 23, 2044. We know that only the Lord knows that for sure, so we hope that you got to experience the one on Monday!
