Thank You
And just like that, it's over. In the blink of an eye we say goodbye to our marching show and our production, "Let It Bee." There aren't enough words we can think of that would be able to show the amount of appreciation we have for our students, our parents, and all of our volunteers. The amount of growth that these students have had is beyond amazing, and it's only a small dose of what is to come in the future. Thank you so much again to our parents and volunteers. Your help, support, and patience is what keeps this program going so our students are able to enjoy their time and make memories.
We hope you will always remember "Let It Bee" as a positive marching experience, and the positive turn that leads to the new Eastwood Band.
Family and Friends Night
To continue our tradition with honoring and saying goodbye to our seniors after the season. We will have a final performance of our marching show tomorrow, November 4th at 6:00pm. Like our preseason performance, we invite you and your loved ones to celebrate our seniors and our entire band for an amazing season.
All-Region Season
With marching season officially over, we now turn to our concert season and it all begins with our All-Region auditions on December 7th (9th for Freshmen). As discussed at our first parent meeting of the summer in July, All-Region is a critical part for the growth of our program. Therefore, we make learning the etudes mandatory, and test grades for our band/percussion students. We also highly recommend our students to audition for All-Region.
Due to the more convenient nature of their auditions, all freshmen are required to audition for All-Region. All students interested in leadership for the following school year, as well as students interested in being selected for Wind Symphony in the future are also required to audition for All-Region.
We will start mandatory All-Region Rehearsals for ALL BAND STUDENTS, this week. Students will report to the band room for practice from 7:30am-8:15am so that they can individually practice their etudes. Attendance will be taken.
Sun City Throwdown This Saturday!
This Saturday we are hosting our 16th Annual Throwdown competition at Eastwood High School! Parent volunteers should have already reached out to Mrs. Deborah Vasquez for this weekend, and still can for help.
This week, Mr. Perez will set up a volunteer sign up for all students to help. All students who volunteer will be able to put hours for towards their community service.
Winterguard Season Is Here!
As our band turns the page to concert band season, our color guard turns the page to their winterguard season. We know band students in the past have been able to participate in winterguard, and we would like to welcome you to do so again this year. However, we want to remind you that your responsibilities for band come first. This includes All-Region, Solo and Ensemble, and Concert Band.
We will have a mandatory parent meeting for all of our color guard members and any band members interested next Tuesday, November 12th at 6:30pm in the band room. Sectionals for winterguard will also begin on Tuesday, November 12th at 4:30pm and go until the parent meeting.
Holiday Concert!
Please mark your calendars for our Holiday Concert, which will be held on December 19th in the Theater at 6:00pm!
Week 4
Reminder: ALL REHEARSALS and PERFORMANCES are MANDATORY. Should your absences add up and restrict your ability to keep up, the directors have a right to keep you from participating at games and contests.
