Lincoln Lowdown
October is anti-bullying month and throughout this month and this year, we encourage our kids to be kind. Lincoln students again have the opportunity to take part in our Hearts and Hands club. Currently, this is open to 4th and 5th graders and they will learn about anti-bullying and then work to inform and educate our younger students. This club meets every other Friday and the next meeting is on Friday, November 1. I have also included photos from the Scarecrow Festival below, this club created a scarecrow and signs as an anti-bullying campaign.
Students will also be given a challenge every day this upcoming week. Below is a list of those-
Monday-Make friends with someone you don’t know at school
Tuesday-Challenge Others To Be Kind
Wednesday-STAND UP for Others Week
Thursday-Don't let anyone at school eat alone in the cafeteria or on a school field trip. Make it the week of #NOONEEATSALONE
Friday-Start the Day With Conversations Amongst Your Peers-Meet with fellow students and discuss how you can Change The Culture at your school.
These challenges will be announced every morning on the announcements, please talk to your child about what they can do to make everyone feel included.
Make kindness go viral with an act of kindness and challenge friends and classmates to pay it forward with their acts of kindness. Make a video of everyone doing acts of kindness and share it with me. We'll add it to our Twitter feed or Facebook page.
Thank you to our Watch D.O.G.S. Mr. Grischow and Mr. Shepke for being our Lincoln Watch D.O.G.S. this week.
In the next few weeks, we have an opportunity to join our Lincoln community and help out at Feed My starving Children. Please join our Lincoln School PTO and Scouts in giving back! They are volunteering at Feed My Starving Children on Tuesday, November 12 from 6:00 - 7:30pm. Sign up here!

If your student will be absent, please call the 24-hour attendance line at 331.228.2500.
Halloween Parties
Students are excited about the upcoming Halloween festivities. As always, parents are welcome to spectate around the outside of the school as students walk around in their costumes. The parade begins at 1:40 p.m. this year. We ask that only those parents that have signed up to help with the parties join us afterward. Our classrooms get crowded quickly, and we want to make sure our room parents are able to manage the activities they have so carefully planned for students.

Veterans Day Assembly
This year Lincoln will celebrate Veterans Day on Monday, November 11th! Veterans Day is a day set aside to honor American veterans of all wars. Many of us know or have known men and women in our families or friends who have served in the armed forces to defend our country. This year we would like to take time to honor these individuals by acknowledging their time served and to honor them at an assembly beginning at 8:50 a.m. on that day. If you have a family member that is able to be present during our assembly please complete the following form so we can plan for their attendance. Veteran's Day Form.
If your child has someone in your family, or a friend of your family, who they would like to honor we are asking you to complete the attached flyer and include a photo. These will be posted in the school entrance hallway as recognition of their service, this way we can honor those Veterans near and far.
