Annual Food Drive!
We came together to make a difference during our Annual Food Drive, held from December 2-12, 2024. It was an opportunity to help those in need while enjoying a fun competition!
How We Helped:
Non-perishable food items like canned goods, pasta, rice, and cereal were donated and collected every morning in front of the counseling office. Every item contributed to our school-wide goal of 1,250 items.
Exciting Incentives:
- Grade-Level Challenge: The grade that brought in the most items by December 12th earned a celebration party on Friday, December 20th.
- School-Wide Goal: Reaching 1,250 items unlocked a special surprise for all students to enjoy.
North View’s incredible spirit shone through as we gave back to our community. Together, we made a meaningful impact.
Thank you for your generosity and support in making this Food Drive our best one yet!
Money for College!
Highlights from the past month:
This past month was filled with exciting events at North View Middle School! Here’s a glimpse at some of the activities that took place.
Maranatha Art Installation
7th Grade Science
For this activity, students developed a patient intake form, test results, and proposed three potential diagnostic options. These profiles will be utilized in future school years to support lessons on the human body, providing students with hands-on practice in identifying medical conditions. Examples of student-created patient profiles can be found by clicking here and here.

Meet the School Resource Officer
Brooklyn Park middle school and high schools are welcoming back the School Resource Officers to our school communities this January. North View Middle School is excited to welcome Alyssa Archer. More about her is below.
Alyssa Archer, a dedicated patrol officer with the Brooklyn Park Police Department, has served her community for seven years. Her lifelong commitment to law enforcement led her to join the department through its Police Cadet Program, which recruits women and people of color to diversify the force. This program offered her both educational support and hands-on experience, preparing her to serve Brooklyn Park’s diverse population with professionalism and compassion. As one of only nineteen female officers in the department, she brings a unique perspective to her role, shaped by personal experiences that resonate with those she serves.
A proud graduate of North Hennepin Community College, Archer is now pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Leadership at Saint Mary’s University. While she values the impact of informal leaders in her profession, she also aspires to become a formal female leader in criminal justice, bringing empathy and understanding to the field and fostering a more inclusive environment for both officers and the community.
Community Event
Restorative Practices: "With not To"
Part of Restorative Practices is to do "WITH," not "TO." We see behaviors as skills to be developed so we teach these skills explicitly and when our students do not have the skills we teach them.
PASS is our Positive Alternative to School Suspension. PASS is staffed by a licensed teacher and our Restorative Counselor works with these students as well. Students work through what earned them PASS and work to repair any harm to return to their classes. With repair, students are even able to shorten their assignment in PASS.
Expectations and knowing "What if..." helps all students, especially those with trauma, feel safe. Consistency allows students and staff to know "What if..." and allows us to provide skill building and responses to safety when appropriate.
Code of Conduct
Every trimester, we have students complete a Code of Conduct, here is a copy of the Code of Conduct for Trimester Two! This goes through important pieces of our handbook as well as highlights important responses to behaviors. Please go through our Code of Conduct so you are familiar with what our students completed in advisory!
High School Basketball Games
This winter, middle school students attending basketball games must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents are required to stay at the game with their student for the duration of the event. Additionally, student IDs will be checked at the door. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring an enjoyable experience for everyone.
