The Weekly Update #1
August 14th, 2024
Administration
Dear Goodyear Elementary School Families:
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year! We are thrilled to introduce our new administration team for Goodyear Elementary. We come with a wide variety of experience and strengths. In addition, we have a ton of energy and enthusiasm for Goodyear Elementary School and our new roles.
Amanda Williams - Goodyear Interim Assistant Principal:
My name is Amanda Williams, and I am excited to bring my passion for education and dedication to student success to this wonderful community. Over the past 15 years, I have had the privilege of serving as a teacher, interventionist, coach, and instructional leader. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Merrimack College, a master’s degree in reading from Endicott College, and a certificate of advanced graduate studies in educational leadership from Merrimack College.
As a compassionate leader, I prioritize the safety and success of the whole child, focusing on both their social-emotional well-being and academic growth. I look forward to getting to know every student and family and working together to support our children’s development.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, and reading. I am excited to collaborate with Mrs. Patrissi and the fabulous staff at Goodyear Elementary to make this upcoming year a fantastic one. Thank you for welcoming me into your community, and I eagerly anticipate the amazing journey ahead.
Meghan Patrissi - Goodyear Principal:
My name is Meghan Patrissi, and I am excited to bring my passion for Woburn and education to Goodyear Elementary. I feel fortunate to start my 29th year with Woburn Public Schools. Woburn holds a special place for me as a current community member. I started my career for many years at the elementary level. I will be transitioning from my role as assistant principal at Woburn Memorial High School to Goodyear Elementary. I am looking forward to collaborating and communicating with the exceptional staff at Goodyear. I have already learned so much from so many as my feet hit the ground running this summer. I love their dedication to your students and their craft.
On a personal note, I am the mother of two college-aged young adults and married for 25 years to my husband, Joe. I know from experience that parenting/caregiving is the most challenging and rewarding title that one can hold. With that said, I am honored that you entrust me with your students. I truly understand the rewards and challenges that you face every day as a caregiver. I approach my decision-making by “doing what is best for kids”.
With the combination of a veteran and a new administrator, we start a new journey for both Amanda and me. We enter excitedly as a unified team, and ready to add to the established caring and kind Goodyear community.
Warm regards,
Meghan Patrissi & Amanda Williams
