Whiteboard IEPs and Transition Planning
A Whiteboard IEP is a facilitated Individualized Education Program process that provides an authentic focus on a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). The process includes the use of a whiteboard or chart paper as the key focus in the meeting and the IEP document as a note-taking tool. Students play a central role in the process and become the lead in transition planning for their own futures.
