Teacher Request Window Open
Davison Community Schools is fortunate to have talented and dedicated teachers on staff in every one of our schools. Our teachers believe in working with parents so that children can excel and be successful. Sometimes, parents like to make requests for the teacher they would like their child to have the following school year. Whenever possible, our building principals will try to respect parental requests. However, please know that in some instances, a parentβs request might not be in the childβs best interest. A childβs learning style, how he/she interacts with other students and special academic and elective needs, are some of the factors used in determining the placement of your child.
Please access the Teacher Request Form here if you would like a request considered.
Requests will be accepted beginning Monday, April 8th at 8 am and must be completed by Friday, April 19th at 4 pm to be considered. Please also have two choices in mind when completing the form.
Please note that this request does not guarantee your childβs placement with that teacher. Many factors go into a childβs final placement. The deadline is in place so schools can begin the scheduling process for the upcoming school year.
Completion of this form is not required.

πππ Birthday Celebrations!! πππ
Just a friendly reminder!
As part of our ongoing efforts to promote healthy and inclusive celebrations, we kindly request that non-edible items be considered for birthday celebrations in the classroom.
Opting for non-food items helps accommodate various dietary preferences and ensures the well-being of all our students. Popular alternatives include small stationery items, bookmarks, or classroom supplies.
We appreciate your understanding and support in fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all our students.

Fun to Be Fit! β½ππ
Spring has finally arrived! This means that physical education will be moved outside with weather permitting. Please make sure your student dresses in layers to have the appropriate clothing to engage in physical activity. We will revisit some of our fall sports to assess stamina and skill. I look forward to getting the students outside for fresh air and team sports. Remember a body in motion stays in motion!

STEM π₯οΈ
Hello Thomson Families,
This month we read a book called βThe Great Eggscapeβ, about some eggs who escape from their carton at the grocery store and have an adventure playing hide and seek. The students get to use building straws in their STEM bins with plastic eggs to make a hiding spot for their egg. They also get to design and decorate an egg on www.ABCYA.com. I am so impressed with their engineering skills- every week they amaze me with what they come up with!
Happy Spring!

Attendance, Tardiness and Leaving Early Matters!
While students should be kept home when they are ill, being at school on-time and staying until dismissal matters. When students are absent, they miss valuable learning time which can be a negative impact on learning. Likewise, arriving late or leaving early, even 5 to 15 minutes, can throw off a child's day. When children walk in late, they can become stressed or experience anxiety, trying to catch up with the start of the day.
Additionally, when children leave early, they often miss the end of the day's closure. Please be mindful that every minute matters and we must work to make the most of every minute!
If your child is going to be absent please don't forget to call the attendance line @ 810-591-0916. This ensures that your student gets marked correctly for the day.
