Comprehensive Health (Grades K-5)
Comprehensive Health is a DPS required health curriculum focusing on age-appropriate, medically accurate information on topics related to puberty, reproductive development, communicable vs non-communicable diseases, recognizing feelings and emotions, healthy friendships, communication, and boundary setting. This year, all students in K-5 will participate in this curriculum beginning the week of May 6. This curriculum should take approximately one week during the science block. If you do not wish for your child to participate in comprehensive health, please print, sign, and return this form to your student’s homeroom teacher by Friday, May 3. The form includes a link to the K-5 curriculum as well for parent review.
Community Resource
- Transition Resource Night: Connecting students with disabilities to the community agencies they need! April 23rd, 2024, 5-7pm at Northeast Early College. FLYER (English), FLYER (Spanish)
- Join the Denver Park Trust on Saturday, April 20th as the Colorado Rapids take on FC Dallas for Sustainability Night! $5 of every ticket sold through this special link (bit.ly/sustainabilitynight) goes to support the Denver Park Trust's mission of enhancing and expanding parks in a thoughtful, equitable, and sustainable way.
- The Front Porch is sponsoring a climate action conversation with MCA Central Park in conjunction with Earth Day. This is a great way for those who are anxious about the climate crisis to learn how they can move from anxiety to action. The Week is a three-part series to inform and inspire us about what we can do to effect change. Each session starts with a one-hour video followed by a discussion with fellow community members. There is still time to tip the scales to a more sustainable and healthy planet. Join us! For more information about The Week, visit www.theweek.ooo.
