Dear WMS Parents and Guardians -
Our spring is busy here at WMS! With track meets, concerts, and a whole host of end-of-the-year activities, spring is a busy time. It is exciting to watch our students grow and develop from boys and girls into young men and young women.
Over the past several weeks, I have seen some great things happening in our classrooms:
Our RedHawks took the challenge of IAR and did their best! I was proud of how they showed persistence, determination, and grit!
I noticed that some of our algebra and geometry students are really understanding how to tackle some challenging problems independently.
I was in a Language Arts class and saw some of our students hitting some grammar pretty hard!
Our PE students have been able to get outside and get fit in the nicer weather.
In an art class, some of our students are moving out of their comfort zone to create things that are magnificent.
Our team day today was a huge success with students building a sense of belonging with their team!
Our goal during the last part of the year is to keep them learning! We don't slow down, we don't stop- we keep learning.
Enjoy your weekend!
Tim
WMS 3rd Quarter Honor Roll
Our Honor Roll recipients were recognized yesterday, with a ribbon, plus a treat at lunchtime from our fantastic PTO!
Please note: We may have some children who earn Honor Roll status but their name is not included on this list. This is because their parents have requested their children's names NOT be published, which includes being published as part of the Honor Roll here or in the newspapers. Changes to this request can be made either in the Home Access Center or with Student Services.
Congratulations to ALL of our RedHawks who worked hard throughout our 2nd quarter of this school year. A special shout-out goes to those who were able to achieve Honor Roll status by earning either all A's or all A's and B's. All A's are on one tab, AB's are on another! See the bottom of the page to switch tabs.

Donations Needed
The Staff Appreciation Committee is organizing Staff Appreciation Week for May 8-12. With so many needs we are putting out our lists early. We have both a Genius Sign Up and an Amazon wish list - see the buttons below. Please consider making a donation to show our staff how much we appreciate them.
Dear 8th Grade Parents and Guardians:
Here is a list of our 8th grade events for the end-of-the-year:
8th Grade Dance: Friday, May 19 from 6-8 PM- sponsored by our PTO. This is a fun, casual party with dancing, food, along with some other fun activities. Historically, some students come “dressed-up” for this event and some choose to dress casually. If your child chooses to dress-up, please make sure their school clothes are appropriate. Either way, students will have plenty of time in high school for "dress-up" dances.
8th Grade Awards Assembly: Friday, May 26, at approximately 9:30 AM in the WMS GYM. All parents are invited, though please know that this is a fairly short awards assembly and not all students are individually recognized. We will inform parents of those who will be receiving an award so they can choose to be in attendance. Please note that we don't have a middle-school "graduation" ceremony - we leave that to high school - instead, having an awards assembly and some other celebrations for our students.
8th Grade Lunch and Games: Our PTO sponsors a lunch on the last day of school along with some games and activities to celebrate the end of their middle-school days.
We are excited for a fun end of the year with our 8th graders!
Saints Helping Hawks
Saints Helping Hawks is back this week on Tuesday and Thursday after school in the LRC. It will run on Tuesdays and Thursday through May 11th. Please reach out to Mrs. Batka (samantha.batka@d303.org) or Ms. Brummel (allison.brummel@d303.org) with any questions.
Donate to our Student Council Fundraiser
Student Council is holding a fundraiser at Wredling for Fox Valley Food for Health the week of April 17-21. Fox Valley Food for Health (FVFFH), is a program which teaches teens to cook healthy, nutritious meals. Adults deliver those meals free of charge to local families going through treatment for serious illness, such as cancer. WMS Student Council members will be collecting donations during lunches that week. All proceeds will be turned over to Fox Valley Food for Health to purchase food for those families in need within our community.
Any student who donates (minimum of $1) will receive a raffle ticket for each dollar donated to enter into a school wide drawing for a chance to win prizes. $5 = 5 raffle tickets, $10 = 10 raffle tickets, etc... This is a great opportunity to serve and support the families in our community and get a chance to win some great prizes! Thanks for any help you can give to this great cause!
