GUIDANCE UPDATES
An educator from New Hope Midcoast will be visiting our school the first week of February during your student’s Guidance class. New Hope Midcoast is a local organization that strives to provide services and preventative education to bring awareness to domestic violence. For our K-5 classroom presentations, students will receive age-appropriate information in regards to kindness, respect, conflict resolution, and setting boundaries. For the middle school student presentations, the topics covered include navigating peer pressure, components of a healthy relationship, and resources available in our community. If you would like more information or have any specific questions or concerns, you can reach out to WCS Guidance Counselor, Erin Sturgeon, via email (esturgeon@rsu1.org) or visit the New Hope Midcoast website at https://newhopemidcoast.org/prevention-education/school-presentations/.
This week our students worked hard at collecting cans for the Soup-er Bowl Food Drive. The standings are as follows:
1st place: the Pre-K - 2 floor with 47
2nd place: the 3-5 floor with 37 cans
3rd place: the 6-8 floor with 1 can
The WCS PTA is holding a family dance for students in grades K-5 on Friday, February 14th from 6-7:30pm. Come join the fun at this fun and free family event! All students must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Things to Talk About
- Happy New Year! Has your address changed since the start of school? Did you get a new phone number or email address? Please make sure that any changes to your home address or contact information are communicated with the school office. Parents can either call the school, or make the necessary changes in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal by CLICKING HERE. This important information is used for many things including, snow day notifications, scheduling school bus transportation, and student emergency contacts.
- Our Lost & Found is starting to grow! Remind your student to take a look to see if anything belonging to them has been turned in! Parents are also welcome to check when they stop in. The Lost & Found is located in the front entryway of the building. All unclaimed items will be donated over February vacation.
