North students taste test global soups
In light of introducing students to more foods around the world, students at North High School taste tested flights of global soups and voted on their favorite! The samples included Mexican Street Corn, Cuban Black Bean, and Harissa White Bean (an African soup). All three soups are vegetarian options.
Students and staff provided feedback on their favorite soup. We received 101 votes total, and the votes were spread equally among the three options. Cuban Black Bean had the highest amount of voters at 36.6%, however both of the other soups were close behind with Mexican Street Corn at 35.6% of votes and Harissa White Bean at 27.7%.
Some students returned to have second servings! The wide range of taste buds among students made it challenging to conclude a definite favorite. However, we are happy to see students interested in trying new flavors! We love that the students enjoy tasting nutritious food from around the world and are thrilled to provide them with a wider variety of options throughout the school year!

Community Resources
Measles and the MMR vaccine
Minnesota has identified cases of measles in children who recently returned to the U.S. after traveling internationally. The decline in measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine coverage, coupled with the increase in measles disease nationally and internationally, puts Minnesota at risk of additional measles cases and a measles outbreak.
MDH has information about measles and the MMR vaccine: https://www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/measles/measlesfacts.html
If your child has any symptoms, please contact your medical provider and school nurse.
Ramsey County Vaccination Clinics
Ramsey County is offering vaccinations clinics. More information can be found on the Ramsey County website.
Washington County Vaccination Clinics
Washington County is offering monthly vaccination clinics. Appointments can be scheduled on the Washington County website.
