Wall of Fame recipients to visit classrooms
On September 14 and 15, Wall of Fame recipients, Donald J. Chmielewski, West Leyden, Class of 1987; Lou Kurzeja, East Leyden, Class of 1965; Justyna Kedra, East Leyden, Class of 2010; and, Tommy "Mugs" Cain, East Leyden, Class of 1970, will be visiting Leyden students in the classroom.
These recipients, along with posthumous candidate Joseph Belback, West Leyden, Class of 1977, will be inducted into the Alumni Wall of Fame at a ceremony that Thursday, September 14, at 3:15 p.m. in the East Leyden Student Cafeteria/Courtyard. On Friday, the newly inducted alumni will also be honored during the halftime show at the Varsity Homecoming Football Game.

Get your Homecoming Dance Tickets!
Don't miss a night at the Disco! Disco Fever Homecoming Dance tickets will be sold Monday, September 11, through Friday, September 15, during all lunch periods. At East Leyden, tickets can be purchased in the Student Activities Office (D201). At West Leyden, tickets can be purchased in the Commons area by the Student Activities Office (Room 125). Tickets are $20/each and can be purchased with cash or a check made out to Leyden High Schools.
Students who want to bring a guest from another school must get a Guest Form from the Dean's office, complete it and return it to the Dean's office by Thursday, September 14. Once the Guest Form has been signed by a Dean, a guest ticket can be purchased during normal sale times.
Tickets will NOT be sold at the door the night of the dance.
Leyden Theatre presents, "Peter/Wendy"
Leyden Theatre proudly presents the play Peter/Wendy, September 28, 29 and 30, starting at 7:00 p.m. in the West Leyden Auditorium.
We invite our audience to celebrate the transformative power of "Happy Thoughts," underscoring their role in shaping dreams, fortifying resilience, and guiding individuals through the profound transition from childhood to adulthood. This poignant exploration of the theme invites both young and old to rediscover the enchantment and wonder of Peter Pan's world, reminding us all of the enduring quest for a place where we truly belong.

Over the summer you may have received an invitation to attend “The Planning and Paying for College” event, originally scheduled for September 19. The date has been changed to November 7, at East Leyden, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m
West Leyden presents a special parent series
West Leyden Student Services and Operation Snowball are hosting a parent series on “How to support your child’s success this school year." This event will take place on Wednesday, September 13, at West Leyden, in the Commons area, at 6:30 p.m. Jacqueline Rhew, co-founder of the Center of Emotional Wellness, co-host of “The Parenting Podcast”, and co-author of “The Parenting Workbook” will join us for an interactive discussion on strategies that will help your child be successful at school. Child care will be provided.
