Summer Reading Program Planning: Nuts and Bolts
Speaker(s): Danielle Margarida, Group Discussion
Ready to change up your Summer Reading Program? We’ll take a look at the latest research on summer learning programs and how your program can maximize impact.
We’ll discuss:
- Organizing your program. The who, what, and how of tracking reading, and the prize dilemma.
- Planning with intention. Summer reading programs strive to stem summer learning loss, but what does your summer reading program aspire to achieve?
- Inclusion. Developing a summer reading program for all abilities.
- Evaluating your program. Examining what worked, how you met your goals, and how to demonstrate your success to library stakeholders.
Please bring an example of a component of your summer reading program that works very well for your community and an example of a component of your summer reading program that you would like to improve upon.
Feel free to bring your lunch to enjoy during our discussion!
Registration required.
