Swimming
The Eldorado Swim Team had an exciting Finals on Friday at Regionals!!
We have two swimmers headed to state in individual events- both swimmers are club swimmers who don’t attend Eldorado:
G Stevens - 200 IM, 100 Backstroke
V Hernandez- Huicub - 100 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke
G Stevens is currently ranked #1 in the region in the 100 backstroke and V Hernandez-Huicab is ranked #1 in the region in the 100 Breaststroke.
We also have our boys relay team headed to state in the 400 Freestyle- J Choate, D Juaragei, and I Camerena joined G Stevens to place third in the region and secure a spot to compete at state!
This is an extremely impressive accomplishment- swim meets are typically dominated by club swimmers and J Choate, D Juaragei, and I Camerena aren’t club swimmer, all three boys play multiple sports at Eldorado. D Juaragei started the season with a broken hand and has only been swimming for about 6 weeks! If you see any of the boys, please congratulate them. It’s been at least 10 years since Eldorado sent a relay to state!
The girls relay team just missed out on a state spot- they placed fifth in both of their relays, dropping 16 seconds in their medley relay.
Lastly, but not least, our very own, Coach Christopher Eliason was voted 4a Boys Coach of the Year!! Congrats!!

The Power of Postive Team
Just as a reminder, going into Summer and building our teams!!!
"The Power of a Positive Team" by Jon Gordon emphasizes the impact of positivity on team dynamics. Gordon explores how cultivating a positive culture, fostering strong relationships, and embracing shared values can lead to enhanced teamwork, resilience, and overall success. The book provides practical insights and strategies for building a positive team environment, emphasizing the importance of communication, leadership, and a collective commitment to a shared vision. Ultimately, "The Power of a Positive Team" encourages readers to harness the strength of positivity to create high-performing and cohesive teams.
In addition, Jon Gordon stresses the significance of prioritizing commitment and purpose over individual goals within a team context. The book underscores the idea that a united commitment to a shared purpose fosters a sense of cohesion and collective achievement. By encouraging team members to align their efforts with a common goal and purpose, rather than solely pursuing individual objectives, Gordon promotes a collaborative mindset that strengthens the overall fabric of the team. This emphasis on commitment and purpose serves as a foundational element in creating a positive and high-achieving team culture.
