Reminder: Students are not in school until Monday, March 21, 2022. We hope that you will be able to enjoy your Spring Break. The BCSC Administration Building will be open during regular business hours (Monday-Friday) if you need assistance.

At Monday night's School Board meeting, BCSC's new strategic plan was approved by the School Board of Trustees. This strategic plan includes an update to BCSC's mission statement. vision statement, core beliefs, and focus areas. In the six-page document found on our district's website, you can read about our strategic planning process, strategic objectives, as well as the programs and methods we plan on implementing over the next five years. This document was used during our recent Professional Development Day with staff to align our efforts moving forward.

After not being able to host the Harlem Wizards due to COVID-19 restrictions, BCSF put on a record-breaking event this past weekend. BCSC would like to thank BCSF's new Executive Director Nicole Cunningham and Community Development Coordinator Angie Emmitt for organizing this fantastic opportunity for BCSC students, staff, families and the community.

Because of the support of so many, BCSF was able to raise 21,432.33 that will help them support the work of BCSC and by promoting awareness and philanthropy for programs that help students achieve educational excellence. Thank you, BCSF!

BCSC Pre-K applications and Kindergarten enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year are now available online.

Please note the following guidelines:

-Any child that is 4 years of age by August 1, 2022, is eligible for Pre-K

-All parents/guardians must present the following items at Busy Bees Academy to enroll their child for Pre-K: the child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residency. The proof of residency can be a utility bill (not a cell phone bill), but the address reflected must match the student’s home address.

• Any child that is 5 years of age by August 1, 2022, is eligible for kindergarten.
• All parents/guardians must present the following items to enroll their child for school: the child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residency. • Kindergarten registration for the 22/23 school year will start on February 1st, 2022.

Did you know that over 11% of students at BCSC are emergent multilinguals? As part of Indiana's state requirements, these students will be taking the annual WIDA Access for ELLs during the months of January and February to assess their academic English language proficiency. Please contact your school's EL teacher if you have any questions.
