Seasons Eating
With LaGmas two weeks away, please be aware of what you bring to school for others to eat, and make sure people know what ingredients are used. People have food allergies or sensitivities to things with nuts, seeds, Gluten, dairy, soy, shellfish, and more. Better yet, share a smile, not food.
Be Healthy this Season
It is flu season. Do not share drinks, straws, utensils, makeup, and other things that can transmit any virus. Also, if you're feeling sick, do not come to school. Do NOT come to school if you have a fever. If you need a mask, you may pick one up at the container located at the front desk.
January Regents Week - January 21 - 24
Students generally take Regents Exams in June unless they have previously failed a specific Regents Exam (or wish to take an exam for a higher score.) During Regents Exams testing periods, student only attend school if they are taking a specific exam OR they have a school scheduled event, such as rehearsals, juries, etc. It is possible that students do not have any school test or activity during these testing periods. Order Your Cap and Gown Now!
Members of the Senior Class must order their Cap and Gown from our Vendor, SmoothUSA. The amount is $49.80, and can be paid by credit/debit card on the ordering website. For those would like to pay in cash, there will be two dates in January when cash or money order only will be accepted at school. The link to the Smooth USA LaGuardia Graduation Store will also be included on the school's website.
The graduation package consists of a cap, gown, tassel, and studio-specific stole. (Graduates sit by studio at the Graduation ceremony.) The items are shipped to the school at the end of the year and are distributed along with graduation tickets.
Your gown size is determined by how tall you are; from the top of your head to your toes. If you are 5’1” then you would choose a 5’0”-5’2” gown. Click to view our helpful guide to ordering your graduation cap & gown: Graduation Gown Size Chart
The deadline to place your order is February 4, 2025. You do not need to setup an account to checkout. Be sure to enter a proper email address so that you can be sent a confirmation receipt of your order. Orders will be shipped to the school late May 2025.
This year, Seniors have the option of purchasing an extra tassel and/or a LaGuardia Seniors 2025 t-shirt.
In Girls Track and Field News: the team started off the season in grand style. The 4 by 200 meter Freshman came in 3rd place (River Duerr, Lena James, Carmeleyna Mentor, and Madeleine Melnick). Sunya Ramos placed 2nd in the 55 Meter Hurdles; Gwyneth Shupp finished 1st in the 3000 meter, and River Duerr finished 1st in the 600 meter.
