Ms. Sam, our Resource Coordinator, will be leaving this position as of October 4th. Sam will be supporting GME in a different capacity as well as pursuing a new opportunity outside of the school. Ms. Sam will ALWAYS be a part of GME - once a GECKO, always a GECKO!

The LSDMC will meet next Tuesday, September 17th to begin the process of hiring a new Resource Coordinator! Our Lead Agency, the YMCA, has posted the position and will provide candidates to the LSDMC.

It has been brought to our attention that there have been numerous vehicles that are not following the "rules of the road." Please, please, please be SAFE as you wait in the carline, as you enter the property, and as you make your way in & out of the property with your child(ren) on-board! If you see something, please say something! Thank you for keeping our CHILDREN and their SAFETY a PRIORITY!

Girls to Women (G2W) is an afterschool program committed to transforming the lives of girls into competent women leaders! G2W meets Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30pm. We focus on leadership development, public speaking, social emotional learning, character building, healthy social media usage, and topics alike. We participate in field trips, and project based learning. We are actively recruiting 4th, 5th, and 6th grade girls to participate. Are you interested in serving on a school-based committee? We need parent representatives to serve on our Instructional Leadership Team which meets on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of the month from 3:45-4:45 PM. We also need parent representatives to serve on our Local School Decision Making Committee which meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 4:00-5:00 PM! Please email Mrs. Ridley at ridleym@cpsboe.k12.oh.us if you are interested in either committee or if you have any questions prior to volunteering to serve!

We are seeking male family or community volunteers to assist in a monthly male mentor program for our 9-12 young men!

WHEN? 1st Friday of the month at GME from 12:15-1:00 with Assistant Principal Mr. Drakeford.

During these mentor sessions, we will eat lunch with the mentees! Discussions around mindfulness, our PBIS monthly virtue such as citizenship, respect, kindness, etc. and peer relationship building will be had! We will engage in recess with our young men while playing board games or sports.

Sessions will include the following and more:

• Team Building Activities
• School Community Service
• Field trip(s)
• Watching Sports Highlights
• Games with mentors/students
• Community Service Project
