BULLDOG BARK
Emerson Elementary January 28, 2024
January is School Board Appreciation Month
January marks the observance of School Board Recognition Month. This is an opportunity to show our year-round appreciation for these servant leaders and begin to better understand how local trustees work together to prepare today’s students to be tomorrow’s leaders. On behalf of everyone in Fraser Public Schools, thank you to Mr. Scott Wallace, Mr. Todd Koch, Mrs. Robyn Norbeck, Mr. Dan Stawinski, Ms. Abigail Wasil, Dr. Kathleen Moco, and Mrs. Rebecca Jensen.
STUDENT COUNCIL TIE-DYE PARTY!
Last week, Student Council members met after school to tie-dye this year's Student Council T-shirts. Tie-dying T-shirts has become an Emerson Student Council tradition, as this is the third year we have done this activity. We were so impressed with how responsible students were while working with the dye! Students had tons of fun creating unique designs using their grade level class colors!

5TH GRADE VISITS CRANBROOK
Emerson 5th graders took a field trip to the Cranbrook Institute of Science on Thursday, January 25th. We explored the Galileo exhibit and learned about many of his different inventions. Students roamed the museum halls, encountering ancient beasts, precious minerals, and lots of interesting hands-on activities. Everyone attended the planetarium show Stories in Our Stars, where we learned about some of the different constellations in the night sky and the stories behind them. Finally, students took part in the Matter & Energy presentation, which was a ton of fun.
5TH & 6TH GRADE BAND CONCERT
Last Thursday our 5th & 6th grade band students had their first full concert of the year. The concert featured 5th & 6th-grade students from across the district and attendees also were able to enjoy the FHS Flute Choir, Percussion & Saxophone Ensembles. It was a wonderful evening and we look forward to their next concert to hear how they have grown.
