Music Department Wins Grant
Congratulations to SVHS Music Director Mr. Adam Stephens and the Screaming Eagle instrumental musicians who won the coveted 2020 Wayne Whigham Music Education Grant from the MCPS Foundation.
Mr. Stephens plans to use the award to fund an artist-in-residence program so that the students can collaborate with exceptional musicians from our surrounding community.
The Wayne E. Whigham Memorial Fund was established by Mr. Whigham's family in March 2013 to honor and support one of Wayne's great passions, music. Wayne's MCPS career began in 1975 as a teacher and later in various roles as a school administrator. He served as principal at Seneca Valley HS.
