Principal's Message
Father in heaven
All creation gives you praise,
for all life and all holiness come from you.
In the plan of your wisdom
Mary, mother of Jesus,
was raised body and soul in glory to be with him in heaven.
May we follow her example in reflecting your holiness, endless love and praise.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
Feast of the Assumption Mass
On the 15th August each year, we commemorate when Mary, Jesus' mother, was taken into Heaven, body and soul. During our Mass, we remembered how Mary said 'yes' to God and how she showed us to be loving, kind and caring to each other.
Thank you to our families who joined with us for our whole-school Mass to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption yesterday.
Influenza
Thank you for watching out for influenza type symptoms this week. We have provided face masks in all classrooms for staff and children who would like to wear one. Remember, Influenza, RSV and covid can be spread easily to others and therefore, it is important that you monitor your child and keep them home if they are suffering from flu like symptoms such as fever, muscle aches and pains, sore throat, dizziness, and cough.
Week 6 Canteen Specials
Our canteen special for Week 6 is Macaroni and Cheese for $3.50. We also have a gluten free option for $4.00. Thank you to all of our families who have been supporting our canteen specials!

CEWA Child Safe Framework
Have you heard of the CEWA Child Safe Framework?
Over the last couple of weeks, we have looked at the 3 key concepts that underpin the CEWA Child Safe Framework and the nine elements that combined, help us to make decisions surrounding child safety in the school.
In the coming weeks, we will unpack one of these nine elements each week and how St Jude's ensures that each element is being addressed.
This week's focus is:
Support and Healing
Responding to those who have been injured or hurt through abuse and harm and to assist them to heal.
What does this look like?
- Students know they can talk with a trusted adult and be heard.
- Confidence that the school will respond to concerns and follow up.
- Our school staff have the ability to manage incidents and consult with supporting personnel/agencies as required.
At St Jude's we:
- Offer counselling through our school Psychologist and External Agencies where needed
- Sr Sandra (Pastoral Care Worker) is also available for counselling and is available to extended family members as well
- Staff are trained in Trauma Informed Practices and Development
- Complaint Handling Procedures makes it clear and easy for students to seek help whenever it is needed. They know they can talk to any trusted adult and be heard
- Complaint Handling Procedures for parents provides a clear flowchart available on our website for the steps parents can take when they have a concern
- Clear critical incident procedures are in place for the safety of students, staff and community. Incidents are recorded in an incident register and analysed regularly for any trends and used for continuous improvement.
Wishing you a lovely weekend!

The Language of Friendship - ONLINE Parent Workshop
Join us THIS WEEK, Tuesday 20 August (6:00 pm - 7:15 pm), for an ONLINE workshop on our school wide program 'URSTRONG - Friendology' which is centred around building positive relationships and and friendships. This has been paid for by our school and is FREE to all our parents!
This session gives parents a common "language" for talking about friendship which is consistent with our school's approach. Through interactive activities, parents will learn strategies to support their child in fostering healthy, feel-good relationships.
