Happy New Year, Phoenix families!

Happy New Year! On behalf of our entire team of educators at Phoenix Elementary School, I would like to let you know that I am excited to begin 2025 with your children.

Thanks to our families for supporting our Read Every Day (R.E.D.) events.

Our attendance at these events continues to be outstanding. Your children often share how excited they are to have family and friends join us for reading time. Please continue to encourage your kids to read at home. We know how important it is to learn how to enjoy the process of reading.

Our family was able to have all four of our adult sons back in Grand Forks during our break. We enjoyed time with friends and family. Several of our staff members were fortunate to travel during the break, we are grateful they are safe and back to school for our families.

I look forward to visiting with you. Please stop in the office if there is anything we can do to help with your child's educational experience at Phoenix.

Please be mindful of Phoenix neighbors when dropping off and picking up students They kindly share their space with us. Also, please be aware of the spaces for permit parking only. We have a few parents who need those spots for getting their students to and from school.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!!!

Students need to be in school every day, on time, and ready to learn!

First bell rings at 8:20am - Tardy bell rings at 8:25 am

Parents are expected to call the office by 8:30 am every day that their child will not be in attendance.

Communication between home and school ensures student safety.

Classes still go outside if temps are above zero. Students should dress in layers so they can enjoy the outdoor recess time! We are very limited on winter wear for students. Please remember to send your child to school with outdoor clothes for recess. (Winter coats, hats, mittens/gloves, snow pants and boots)

If you registered for the Fast Break BB program, this message is for you:

MESSAGE FOR PARENTS:

Phoenix Parents,

Thank you for registering your child for our new Fast Break Club After School Basketball. We are excited to get started! Our start date will be the week of January 6. Your child will have practice two days a week at their school from 3:00-4:00. If your child is not attending encore after basketball, please pick them up at 4:00.

Our Saturday games will be held at Grand Forks Central High School except on Saturday, February 8th. February 8th the games will be held at Red River High School. Our last game for the season will be on February 15th. The game times for Saturday are listed below.

Boys~8:30-9:30 am

Girls~9:45-10:45 am

Practice times

Your child’s practice days will be Monday and Tuesday
