SHS Debate Team Takes State Honors

The Sunnyvale speech and debate team travelled to Austin for The UIL Congressional Debate State Championships. Lyla Gent and Aidan Biggins represented Sunnyvale well.


Lyla competed in finals, held at the State Capitol, and finished 11th in the state while earning the prestigious Outstanding Presiding Officer award. This marks the first time a debate student from SHS won the award.
