Register for the bilingual seal exam by this Friday, April 14
Sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are bilingual in a language other than English are encouraged to take the Bilingual Seals Exam. Students can earn college credit for knowing how to speak, listen, read, and write in another language.
The bilingual seal also looks great on a resume. Students should register to take the exam by Friday, April 14 by visiting the bilingual seals program webpage.
North Drama presents And Then There Were None this weekend
Ten strangers are invited to Soldier Island, an isolated rock near the Devon coast. Cut off from the mainland, with their generous hosts Mr and Mrs U.N. Owen mysteriously absent, they are each accused of a terrible crime. Based on the novel by Agatha Christie.

Free Meal Information
Governor Tim Walz recently signed the bill to provide universal free school meals for all students, regardless of household income. The new program will begin in the upcoming 2023-24 school year.
In the meantime, families that currently do not qualify for free or reduced meals must continue to pay for school meals for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year.
Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) Information
If your child is approved for Educational Benefits (free or reduced-priced school meals), they may be eligible for P-EBT benefits of $8.10 for each day they were absent due to a COVID-19-related illness.

North Alumni pitching for Milwaukee Brewers
2015 North High graduate Gus Varland made the Milwaukee Brewers' Opening Day roster and made his Major League Baseball debut on March 30. Gus played 4 years for the Polars baseball team and went on to play collegiate baseball at Concordia College of Saint Paul.
Gus was drafted in 2018, by the Oakland Athletics, in Round: 14, Overall Pick: 413. He then went on to play for the Dodgers before being picked up by the Milwaukee Brewers in the Rule 5 Draft after the 2022 season.
Gus is the older brother of Twins pitcher Louie Varland.

Discounted At-Home Internet
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) provides eligible households a discount of up to $30 per month off their internet bills (or up to $75 per month for households living on Tribal lands), as well as a one-time discount of up to $100 off an eligible connected device like a laptop, desktop computer or tablet. In many cases, households can get high-speed internet without paying a dime by choosing a fully covered internet plan.
A household is eligible to participate in the ACP if a child in the household receives free or reduced-price school meals. Therefore, under the ACP rules, every household with a child attending a school participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program is eligible for ACP benefits.
Households can learn more and apply for the ACP at GetInternet.gov.
