All instructional staff must be Level-Up Certified by 12/20

All instructional staff must complete Level Up by December 20. This means you either completed the previous Level Up Learner course and have the blue certificate of completion, or you have completed the shorter Level Up Revamp course and have the red and white certificate of completion (see examples below). Should only take an hour! If you did the previous version of Level Up you are exempt for this year.

If you completed the first level up course, you were given this certificate and are on a list of level up certified teachers. (this certificate was emailed to you from levelup@aldineisd.org)

Successful Aldine Hour of Code/Computer Science Week

The district’s participation in the Hour of Code was a success! There were so many events going on every day all over Aldine. Special thanks to Ms. Sears for bringing 15 Lewis students to Parker Elementary to spend the day teaching coding. They brought enthusiasm and excitement to teaching elementary students about coding.


It doesn't have to stop now. You can code with your students too. Check out this website for lessons for your content!

Is your Chrome Browser updated?

Google is constantly revealing new and helpful features, but you can’t access them if you’re not keeping your Chrome updated. Some of the newest features include having your calendar, keep (google sticky notes!), and tasks (google to-do list!) docked on the right. If you see this arrow you’ve got an update waiting!

New Ruby on the Road Episode!

Ruby visited several teachers using Nearpod in their classroom and shared some of the benefits of its use as an integration tool. Ruby on The Road Episode 3 is now available, check out how teachers in our district are using Nearpod!

Ed Camp Aldine to be Rescheduled!

Keep an eye on ePortal for the new date.

Ed camp is PD your way. Ed camp has an agenda that’s created by the participants at the start of the event. Instead of one person standing in front of the room talking for an hour, people are encouraged to have discussions and hands-on sessions. All of the space and time are reserved for the things the people there want to talk about. And best of all IT’S FREE!
