National Poetry Month
April is National Poetry Month! We are doing a few things throughout the month in the library to celebrate poetry.
1. Poet-TREE station in the library - All month
Ms. Madsen & Ms. Fron have created templates for students to write their own poetry. They can choose from Acrostic, Haiku, and Limerick. When students finish they will mount their poem on scrapbook paper and hang it on our Poet-TREE in the Media Center.
Ms. Madsend & Ms. From have cut out poems from older poetry books for students to illustrate.
A fun activity to do one afternoon after Milestones.
The broadcast crew are sharing a poem each day on Tiger News.
We are celebrating Poem in Your Pocket Day on Friday, April 26.
Students are encouraged to write their own poem, find a poem they like, or get a poem from the media center. Keep the poem in your pocket all day on Poem in Your Pocket Day to share with friends.
Ms. From and Ms. Madsen will be looking for students with poems in their pocket all day to give away prizes.

Attendance Matters!
Attendance Matters!
As we navigate the end of the school year, I want to take a moment to emphasize the critical importance of school attendance for your child's academic success and overall well-being.
Attending school regularly not only provides your child with the opportunity to engage in learning but also plays a significant role in their academic achievement. Research consistently shows that students who attend school regularly are more likely to perform well academically and develop essential skills for future success.
When students are absent from school, they miss out on valuable instructional time, which can result in gaps in their learning and difficulties in keeping up with classwork. Additionally, regular attendance fosters a sense of routine and discipline that is beneficial for academic and personal growth.
We understand that there may be circumstances that occasionally require your child to be absent from school, such as illness or family emergencies. In such cases, please ensure to communicate with the school in advance and provide any necessary documentation to excuse your child's absence.
As partners in your child's education, we encourage you to prioritize school attendance and emphasize its importance to your child. By working together to promote regular attendance, we can help ensure that your child has every opportunity to thrive academically and reach their full potential.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's attendance.
