ROPES COURSE FIELD TRIP - HOW TO PREPARE!
The long awaited 6th Grade field trip to the Ropes Course at the Nature Place at High Trails is on Thursday, October 3rd. Students will be outside all day, and should remember to bring appropriate shoes and clothing for the unpredictable Colorado weather. A water bottle is a must, and so is a sack lunch. The cafeteria staff will provide sack lunches for students who pre-ordered a lunch from the cafeteria, otherwise students should bring a lunch from home.
The Nature Place is recommending that students bring the following items:
Water Bottle
Sack Lunches
Athletic style clothes that students can move easily in
A couple of layers of clothing (short-sleeve shirt, long sleeve shirt, sweat shirt)
Close-toed shoes (like sneakers…No sandals or flip-flops)
Rain jacket
The bus will depart Quest at 8:30 am and is scheduled to arrive back at Quest at 5:00 pm. Due to frequent traffic delays on I-25, we are assuming the bus will not return to Quest promptly at 5:00, but more likely somewhere between 4:30 and 5:30 pm. We will communicate with families when we have an estimated return time to Quest. Please ensure your 6th grader has a ride home from Quest because school bus service will not be available when they return.
We are very excited to provide this team-building Signature Experience for our 6th graders.

Community Eligibilty Form
We are down to our last 100 families who have not filled out the Community Eligibilty form. We understand that not all will qualify so why fill it out? We are very fortunate that our district allows for all students to eat lunch free of cost. The community eligibilty form that was used in the past to determine eligibility is now used as a way to keep track of the changes our school community continues to go through. From 2021 at 11% who qualify we are now at 36.9%! By taking the time to fill this form out you are helping us get an accurate view as to how many of our families would actually qualify for free or reduced lunch. The information helps us solicit sponsorships, donations and programs for our students and families. Plus it also is a great representation of our parent involvement, which is the best in the district!
If you need help, feel free to call the front office at 303-343-3664 or stop by and we will be glad to help.
NO OUTSIDE FOOD POLICY
Students are not allowed to order outside food to be delivered to school during the school day. If, you, the parent wants to bring them food, you may only bring it for your student.
It's a very complicated situation to bring food to share with your friends or class. So many of our students have food allergies, sensitivities, as well as ailments that certain foods can trigger emergencies. Please make sure to talk with your child about this and understand that they may not be able to enjoy what they bought due to our policy.
Parent Portal Check In
Please be sure to do your check in for your students. You can update emergency contacts, phone numbers, home address and give permission for field trips, pictures as well as sign the new technology contract.
If you have problems logging in or in case you have forgotten your Username and/or Password, please, reach out to me and I will provide you with the correct information and help you with resetting your password. CLICK HERE for the link and also to read and discover why it is important and beneficial to have access to ICPP. Do you still have questions? Don't hesitate to call Mr. John Adams, Family Liaison for help with this. The best way to respond to me is replying to this email.
🍁 Welcome to Fall 🍁
- Please schedule flu vaccinations and updated COVID 19 vaccines. The recommendations from CDC for timing of vaccinations is late September and early October. Both vaccines can be given at the same appointment.
- Please check email, Talking Points, and voice messages. I have been sending reminders about past due immunizations. Currently there is a fourfold increase in pertussis cases nationally. Pertussis (also known as whopping cough) is highly contagious. So contagious a recent college football game between Portland State and South Dakota was cancelled when one student was diagnosed with pertussis. For parents/guardians who choose not to vaccinate for any reason APS offers an exemption process. Please let me know if you need information on exemptions.
- Allergies, coughs, and sore throats. Every morning at 0500 I receive information on allergen levels in our area. Since school started, we have been at moderate to high to severe levels for allergens. Please make sure your child has a water bottle and encourage them to drink a LOT of fluids. Most of us with seasonal allergies are coughing, sneezing, and have a sore throat from the coughing. A reminder-please do not send cough drops with your child. This is considered medicine and must go through the clinic.
Please let me know how I can help.

difficulties online!!! We welcome all parents and support parents to join us! If you are
interested in voting rights for decisions that affect how we support the school, membership
is $10. You can become a member on the school website under the PTA tab or at any
meeting or event we are hosting. We would love our teachers to be a part of our meetings
and as a thank you for their time we are doing something new by having parents sponsor a

many parents at the last meeting suggest and offer to pay for a teacher. If this is something
you’d like to partake in please reach out.

Our parent volunteers make it so much easier for us to navigate through the school year. If you are interested in volunteering, here is how to get your badge and clearance.
STEP 1: In order to become one you need to complete the Screening Process (Background Check). Click Here
STEP 2: Send Mr. Adams, our Family Liaison an email with a picture of your valid driver's license (front only) and a picture of yourself with a plain background for your badge AFTER you have completed the screening process (STEP 1). Mr. Adams will submit the "Volunteer Approval Form" with both pictures to the Safety & Security Department. Once it arrives he will call you to come pick it up.
